brightness/gamma off when booting ati 9600xt

I have Adobe Photoshop installed on my machine. The gamma loader intalls from the startup in the start menu. I remove it and what ya know? My gamma adjustments stay when adjusting my color settings via the vid card drivers. Dumb me. Could be something as simple for anyone else? Problem solved...

Slot A CPU removal HELP! badly :(

On the board, close to the base of the heatsink, there is a support for the heatsink clipped to the motherboard on two plastic pins. Push the tab on both ends toward the heatsink and it should unclip.

13GB HD only seen as 8GB under W2K?

I see you said that you had done a low level. Is the hard drive utility the one you used to do this? Use your hard drive utilities. They should contain a program to write zeros to the hard drive. This has been the only way I have been successful at removing NTFS. Possibly a bios update may help...

UPDATE: Motherboard Okay -- CPU Dead!

Some Delta fans will kill fan headers on a motherboard. Anyway, did you test the cpu on another known working machine to be sure the processor did not take a dive as well???

Need help from all you experts -- Computer locks up with MSI-K7T -Turbo and Thunderbird 1.333Ghz @ 266FSB

My board shipped with bios version 2.4 and had similar issues. It would post once and then not post again. I now run verson 2.7 with the memory timing set to spd and it works flawlessly. I am also using Win98. Hope this helps.

MSI K7T Turbo problem - any news of refund/replacement?

I have mine running with bios revision 2.7. MSI has a beta bios 2.8B2. You have to get it from them. It is supposed fix the issues. It did on a friends pc. Before 100fsb only to 133fsb stable. The beta would cause my machine to lose partial secondary ide usage,ie; dvd rom drive.

MSI K7T Turbo...

This a known issue with MSI motherboards. Adjust your vcore to 1.625 and then reboot. you should now have 1.75 or there abouts. Gary.

Anyone running a 300 wt Powerman PS with a 1.2 or greater athlon??????????

300 watt Powerman here... Don't believe any mother board monitor on output voltages though. My board says 11.80,my meter says 12.26. 4.88 but is really 5.11 on the meter, etc. Check my system specs. The only thing I haven't done is overclock this 1.33 beast. Does run a bit on the warm side...

Is 43 degrees celsius normal for 1.33GHz (AYHJA) TBird?

Motherboard not detecting HD or CDROM!

My experience with Western Digital is that their drives when used as master should have no jumper applied.This is what WD states is the "single" setting. My drives have spanned two systems and the master is set as single with no jumper and the slave is jumpered as slave on the primary...

The hard drives should be on the primary with an 80 conductor ATA66/100 cable. If you have more than one Western Digital hard drive though, the master should not have a jumper on it. Some WD drives like to be set this way.The secondary ide should use the 40 conductor ATA 33 cable. Both should...

Strange errors on screen showing IDE and PCI device listing - link to photo

Is the board operating correctly??? No crashes etc.??? If so it is probably the mb vendor not knowing how to do quality control on the bios programming. I would probably, for the heck of it, swap it out for a like board and see if it does the same thing. What board might I ask??? I'll check this...

Need serious help updated my AIW drivers because so far, it has killed my system

Be sure the motherboard drivers are the first ones in. Install the new drivers for the vid card. When finished, plop in the cd and choose custom install and select only the multimedia center. That should do it. Keep in mind that most of ATI's newest drivers require DX8 if it is not already...

Pull your memory. Swap it with other known good memory and see if that works. Memory can crap out more often than one would think. Let us know if this helps...

New case, new MB - and no spacers. Now what?

If I am not mistaken, that is the same case I have my sons machine in. It did not come with spacers because of the rises punched in the mb tray. Just be sure unused ones don't touch. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the atx form factor on the many machines we have built for friends with this...

how to disable acpi on asus a7v?

If it is anything like Win98, When you type in setup plug a switch in after it ( \p i ). This keeps it from recognizing an "incompatible Plug and play bios". If it is like 2000, hit F5 after hitting F6. Choose standard pc. I will admit that I have never used ME, so I am just guessing.

Norton Antivirus causes application error when I try to scan. Please help as it's making me nervous.

I have had this happen with a couple of my apps... If this is the only app you are currently having this issue with, more than likely there is a corrupt file for the app causing it. Reload Norton if this is the case. This has fixed quite a few problems for me. As always, Good Luck.
