(I added a .sig with my system info in it)
The guy at Asus suggested that I set the voltage to 1.920 and find out from gskill what all the correct settings for this RAM are, including all the parameters in the advanced section of the menu, and manually enter everything per the manufacturers...
My 2GB DDR2 modules are rated at 1.8-1.9V, but the settings on the MB are AUTO, 1.920, 2.013, etc. I think 1.920 is the lowest it goes.
Is it possible this RAM is BARELY compatible with this MB hence the need for the BLACK SLOT only useage. And future 2GB ram that can operate at higher...
my VDIMM is set to whatever the default is. Other than setting the timing to the manufacturers specifications what would I change to get memory to operate more reliably in the yellow DIMM slots?
You mention VDIMM, kicking it up a notch, what value would up a notch be? I'm not sure what the...
It is SUCH a pain to replace a motherboard. But I am getting more and more disenchanted with this one due to the apparent instability of the Yellow DIMM slots.
Is there some other setting I can try? Is it likely a problem with the DIMMS themselves and this motherboard? Like I said the 2GB...
I am trying to get RAM that works in the BLACK DIMM slots to work in the YELLOW slots. So far no luck. I am using 2GB DDR2 G.Skill RAM modules, with 6-6-6-18 2T timing. I have the timing set that way, 6-6-6-18 2T and it doesnt come up 1T. But most of the RAM settings are on AUTO (except for...
Are the YELLOW DIMM slots problematic on ALL these MBS? Is it a manufacturing defect of some sort?
I moved my DIMMS back to the YELLOW DIMM slots, when I first bought the board using 0202 I had some problems using them, so I put my 2x2GB DDR2 PC800 DIMMS in the Black mem slots. I have since...
A modified version of your suggestion basically worked, thank you! I uninstalled both optical drives but that didnt do it. I then uninstalled the drives and the primary ATA controller. Then rebooted. Then it came up PIO Mode only, but once I changed that back to DMA if Available and...
I'm fairly certain it's not the drives at all. They both work in DMA mode if setup as the slave drive, and used to be in the system together and they worked fine.
Could I have damaged the controller on the MB at all in a way that prevents DMA from the master drive on the PATA chain? Is...
I have a Dell XPS Gen 3 system with a 925X chipset. Throughout the life of the system I have had DMA mode 2 on both DVD drives in the case. They are both on the same controller, one as master one as slave. Recently I swapped out the slave drive and now the master stays in PIO mode regardless...
I updated to 0401 from 0202. I had to remove the battery and let the CMOS clear for a few mins or it wouldn't let me into the BIOS setup. Once I did that it was fine.
I don't notice any difference between 0202 and 0401. It still can't recognize my G.skill 800MHZ 6-6-6-18 2T 2GB RAM modules...
I've heard people say to use only the BLACK memory slots with this MB. Initially I had problems with the yellow slots and/or incorrect timing coming up in AUTO mode with the 0202 BIOS.
I moved the memory to the black slots and manually set the timing, its been stable.
My question is...
I noticed an optional update on the Windows Update page last night. It was for the NVidia Raid Driver. I am using Windows Vista 64 Ultimate, with my D: drive configured as RAID using two drives striped together. All is fine with the RTM drivers from the original Vista Install DVD. Once I...
