I think g80 is going to prove itself to be one of the longest lasting architectures. It just blows everything away right now.
The obvious are ofcourse the 9800/9700 pro; lets not forget the x850xt.
It isnt that antecs are bad psu's right? Ive always been told they are good quality. Its probably more due to the poor cooling than the capacitors themselves.
Furthermore supposedly the powerstream provides very stable current. So I would assume that means it has good caps.
Edit: I meant to add this to my last post. Wow it looks retarded replying to your own post.
Thanks ill check that link out , but im running a ocz powerstream 470 so im not sure it will help. Your right though my psu could easily be going bad I guess.
Lately my computer has been deciding whether or not it wants to boot. Once it boots all is fine and I can just leave it on. However if for any reason I have to shut it down/it crashes its a damn struggle to get it to boot up again. First thought that went through my head was dust buildup (this...
Im having a pretty similar problem my computer seems to decide whether or not it wants to turn on anymore. Usually this is a symptom of dust buildup blocking electrical contacts (has been in the past for me). At this point im pretty sure its not dust though. I checked the power cords. Sprayed in...
Yah it pisses me off when usb keyboards wont work. I think they should all come with backup ps/2. Whenever everything wont work and you want to fix it yourself you nee
d to go find 10 components you dont have/are hard to get anymore.
Anyhow ive been having strange problems lately where...
How long has the 7800 series been out? I think ive got a year and a half out of my 7800gt and really I can still run almost anything at almost highest settings. I bet I could get about 2 years out of it.
I dunno if I can wait another month. As soon as 8800gts 320mb comes out im buying some sort of new vid card one way or another. If x2k series becomes the bang for the buck item ill sell the gts, no biggie.
Definitely depends on the card. Some cards unlock pixel pipes, can be volt modded, or are clocked low to begin with. Such cards see tangible increases when overclocked properly.
I the 6150 is definitely a downgrade , but not as bad as im making it sound. 6150 is still pretty recent for integrated. Realistically I wouldnt expect to run any games on anything higher than low/lowest that were released after ~2000-2002. With that said theres alot of great games that arent...
Imo your almost bang on as far as bang for buck method. Instead though I always by mid-highend as opposed to mid or ultra highend. Ultra highend deprecciates like crazy within a few months. Mid high is usually at least 85%-90% of the highest end performance for 1/2 to 2/3 as much. To top it off...
Problem is the 7800gt is getting to the point where it wont play games acceptably imo. I have one clocked very similar to his with a similar overall setup and I just cant run Company of Heroes like id like to. Im getting tired of waiting so once the 8800gts 320mb comes out im making a decision.
It wont be alot faster but it will be faster. That card is a good overclocker. I personally only think it would be worth it if you overclock the card alot.
The 7300gt is not even a "bad" card. I wish they would have put an fx5200 or some older gen cards on the list for comparison. It would be atrocious. It would maybe help those stupid people who still buy mx4000 and old fx cards from best buy for 50ish bucks.
Im convinced Newegg and Chief are related and not because I heard it from other people. I came to the conclusion myself. I dont know if its true anymore but in the past their inventories where almost exactly the same even down to the odd refurbished or hard to find items.
Usually a combination...
Read up on dividers and see if your bios has them. If it does just use the dividers to run the ram near its stock speeds and overclock the cpu as much as you like.
699 mhz? Reset your cmos and start over. Sometimes after repeatedly making changes to the settings the cmos gets screwed up.
Its worth it IMO the x1900xt overclocks better and has more headroom because of the better pcb. I think its the better bang for the buck card. On that note though I would get an x1950xt faster memory than the x1900xt and for the most part same price. If your going to get the x1900xt I would get...
x800pro to 7600gt isnt worth it get at least a 7900gs. 7900gt's can be had for ~190 new from froogle. You could probably get one for around 170-180 used.
Ctrl + C.... Ctrl + V
I agree with you though you shouldnt have to use alternative methods to paste some damn text.
One thing I hate about firefox is how my favorites list is full and whenever I add a new favorite im pretty sure some old ones are deleted.
Umm i would bet that the x2 4800+ is binned similarly as the opterons ( i know all the harsh server conditions stuff). It wouldnt be economical to buy an opty. If you are just overclocking for fun then and you really want 3 ghz just get some better water cooling. It would be worth it because you...
What did you think of the highs and the detail/resolution of the hd280?
I have a pair of px100 and hd201. I like the bass of the px100, but id also like more detail than the px100 provide in the highs and upper mids.
If your tv has a line out try that. It might not be any better , but its worth a shot. Also as far as surround goes im no expert; however I think youd be better off with the icemats than the hd555 (specifically for the xbox). I dont think the 360 can simulate virtual surround for stereo...
Hah im surprised it even ran those components.
My brother bought a case that came with a xion psu ( i told him to buy a better psu, but of course not). Anyway it didnt even boot his single 7800gt. The thing weighed like 1 lb (generally a sign that it sucks).
I wouldnt be surprised in the...
What is with people and macbook pro's the only good reason I could see to have a macbook is if you have a ton of mac software or you want a particularly slim laptop. PC notebooks are much better bang for buck.
Have you tried clearing the CMOS sometimes that fixes everything inexplicably.
Sounds like something funky is going on I dont think your cpu is "dieing".
Look it up on newegg or some e-tailer and look under specifications. Should have a list of the rails and amperages. Add up all the 12v+ amperages to see what your power supply gives on the 12v rail. If its a single rail psu their will only be 1 12v+. 12v- for the most part doesnt matter so dont...
Thanks for the advice. I might try some IEMs down the road , but ive read that in ear phones arent good for your hearing (unless your really careful with the volume). Suppossedly the upper treble doesnt have time to fade a bit like it does when it comes from speakers or headphones further from...
I think most of the 9800 pro's produced have reached the end of their lifespan. This is obviously just a theory but the incident you are describing is pretty similar to what happened to a friend of mine's 9800 pro. I dont know if it died after a stand by , but like yours it wont run in any...
As you probably already know video encoding has alot more to do with your processor and RAM than it does with a vid card.
An x1300xt would be a great choice if you could get one used for around 45-55 bucks.
Honestly if you dont game at all youd be surprised how far newer integrated...
