85 Hz refresh helps but still, LCD's are so much easier on eyes regardless of the refresh rate. You might think otherwise but 99.9% of users will NEVER go back to CRTs. Are you trying to prove something?

The prices will start moving as soon as the 2900XT start flooding the market. Besides, the 65nm version of the 2900XT will be a 8800 killer, guaranteed. We'll see a lot of price reductions from Nvidia when THAT thing gets released.

The 8800 is just an insanely overclocked GTX with an even bigger Heatsink, plenty of thermal issues, additional noise and huge price tag with miniscule production numbers. The 8800 Ultra is just for publicity and bragging claims.

I wasn't saying that AMD will manufacturer the chips at its CPU plants. I meant they probably will implement some of its flexible manufacturing strategies into the GPU production. Also AMD's statement on the 80nm R6XX process is not the final word. That could be another reason for silence -...

I don't know what's his deal either. The Sceptre doesn't look or feel cheap. The picture quality is great in HD (isn't it what matters most?), the bezel looks just fine. The remote is on the cheap side, but who cares. The most of us will be using a good Universal one anyways.

Yes, you're correct. Socket 939 is dead. The new 65 nanometre SOI design is reserved for socket AM2, revision G release, which is just around the corner. The current socket AM2 is revision F.

Check your connections. It's easy to mix those three cables up. Also try the S-video and see how it does. I would suggest getting the upconverting DVD player with an HDMI output. They are getting very cheap now. The HDMI setup requires only one cable - it carries both video and audio...
