I feel your pain, I had to wait a long time to get Road Runner. You can always get higher speed through satellite TV if you don't mind skipping your mortgage payments. Sounds like you have a good trade-off if you can think of putting up a windmill and hydropower, I have to get permission...

If your dad's computer has a floppy you could borrow that one. If the motherboard is still under warranty I'd send it back.

That's a little different. In your original post you said the only thing that came on was your HDD LED. My guess is that the power supply is OK. The article that winr suggested has excellent info (new to me). If it was me I'd try that next.

Cheex, do you have another computer you can use to test your power supply and maybe the processor? I think when you are burning a new program the bios is not even active (in the sense of controlling parameters), it seems very unusual that the bios itself would shut off the computer in the middle...

I may have found another problem which may or may not be causing crashes but may be worth checking out. I've been using an ATI Radeon 9600XT. It works perfectly except it locks up when running Microsoft Flight simulator 2004. (It did the same on my old computer so I'm sure it's a flaky...
