Thanks that sounds easy. Can the images be stored on multiple DVDs or does it need to be stored on another hard drive?

I just reinstalled Vista. My Vista DVD is before Service Pack 1, so the updates take a fairly long time. I would like to make a clone of my hard drive as it is right now, so next time I want to refresh it, I can start from this point forward. I have never used image software - what package...

Will it cause problems installing DirectX 9.0C on Vista?

Thanks for confirming. From more reading, I think the issue is that Vista is using an older DX9 as part of Vista and Vista does not update its files as it would on an XP system, so by doing a new installation, you get the latest pieces of DX9.0c updated.

Would the Corsair 750W fit inside my Antec 900 case?

You would want to turn the PSU upside down in the Antex 900, so that it is drawing air from top.

Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750 makes a weird hum/whine sometimes

Coolermaster support suggested that I RMA it to them. I returned it to retailer and got a Corsair TX750W instead. It does not make the whine/hum.

Any recommended settings for overclocking an E8400 on a Asus P5Q Deluxe

No hard disk detected! message at boot-up

I figured it out. The BIOS option for Marvell IDE Controller is set to enabel by default and since I have no IDE device it gives that message. I disabled it, any message went away.

Space used on my drive with Vista Home Premium 64 has grown 25% in a week

Thanks. Just the clean-up of restores files brought used space from ~53 gigabytes to 23. That is crazy restore was taking that much.

Will installing the Marvel 61XX SATA (raid) driver cause problem in non-raid system?

I just uninstalled 177.39 and installed 177.41. After using 177.41 a while it seem things went in out of screen so I uninstalled 177.41 and reinstalled 177.39. When making driver changes, do you need to use a driver cleaner or is it not needed? If needed, any free ones?

I am just studying all the aspects of overclocking (never done it), so take this guess as it is but this idea jumped out at me: Are you using auto settings for voltage on both motherboards? If so, maybe Gigabyte gives more voltage on auto than Asus does and Asus is not giving enough.

Core Temperatures on stock E8400 - seem normal? high?

I am using Speedfan at same time as HWMonitor, will doing another stress test. While HWMonitor was showing Core 0 at 51 Celsius and Core 1 at 50, SPeedfan was showing Core 0 at 46 and Core 1 at 45. Seems both would be reading the same measurement. Weird.

Thanks. I am using a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 heat sink, so I was hoping for lower than stock heat sink. I have it in an Antec 900 with stock fans. I have the back and front on low speed and the bigboy on medium speed.
