Bonkers. When I go on a 20-mile bike ride, I take an extra tube and a patch kit because I don't want to trust hopes and prayers to get me home in case of an incident.
Do you have any resources for exporting saved posts? I have saved so many informative things to "read later" over my ten years there, and they're essentially the only thing preventing me from nuking my account right now.
LOL I was a massive lurker but never got into ATOT enough to be a known name. It's funny logging back in and remembering some of the classic usernames though. Like @brianmanahan are you still writing dope pomes??
I just logged back into ATOT for the first time in like 8 years because of the reddit blackout. I figure if I don't miss it for a few days, then I will just completely delete my account and never return.
While it's a frying pan > fire situation, I have been enjoying Facebook groups for highly...
The details:
I have to send my dead laptop in for warranty service. The warranty support person told me they suggest that users remove all sensitive info before sending a computer in for service. Only problem is that my laptop does not turn on, so I cannot do that. So I pulled the SSD from the...
I enjoy the commercials from a creative standpoint, because they're well crafted, amusing and somewhat memorable.
I just can't get over some of the desperate logic they use in trying to prove that satellite TV is better than cable TV. Yeah Comcast is notorious for giving you wide service...
Logan Square/Avondale neighborhood of Chicago.
The semi was stuck when I got out to my car around 11. Apparently he'd been there since early in the morning. There was actually a Cherokee trying to help pull him free. While digging out my car, my little brother (in the Ford) came by my place...
Sony RX100! Great image quality, image stabilization and fits in my pocket. I carry it everywhere.
Hahaha thanks rudeguy. I figured that even if I came off as spammy, it's still an entertaining enough video that people in these parts would enjoy. Might post it to The Garage.
Hoping to...
Hahah... I didn't want to seem spammy.
Here's the video: http://youtu.be/f0AcfVQNzYE
Road & Track posted it here: http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/videos/a24916/video-ford-f-150-rescues-stuck-semi-in-snowbound-chicago/?src=spr_TWITTER&spr_id=138800111

Sitting on a potentially lucrative YouTube video (i have monetization enabled) which has been embedded into blog posts by a couple big online publications. Now have a major international brand that wants to link to one of those publications. Are those views on an embedded player going to count...
I dunno what gives with this, and I can't find a fix online.
Sometime in the last month, my autohide taskbar (bottom of monitor, Windows 7) will not unhide when I'm using Chrome. It's happened to both my work and home computers. Work is dual-monitor setup, home is single.
Chrome is...

 I'm going to have to hunt this one down. It was the first movie I ever saw in the theaters, and watched it many, many times after that on VHS. Many fond memories of it. Been a good 15 years since I've even seen a clip though. Thanks for...
That article was oddly written. It started with the literary journalistic style of an Esquire or GQ piece, and then just kind of petered out. I was expecting a more "wow" ending.
Also <tinfoilhat> I kind of got the sense that maybe the Government dropped charges because they were interested in...
Exactly what I was going to say.
I'm an escapist. If the movie takes me someplace great, I want to stay there as long as possible. TDKR is a great example. The extended versions of LOTR movies also. I have no problem spending 4 hours watching an enjoyable, well-paced movie.
Made For TV movie out within 6 months.
Hollywood Movie within 3 years.
Competing Hollywood Movie telling slightly different story at 3.1 months.
Remake of Hollywood Movie within 15.
Watching WHDH's stream, and loving the one guy (Kerry?) they've got on the street. Seems very together, and showing lots of restraint with the info he's privy to.
Neil Young is supposed to have/debut something like that; a service offering d/ls of audiophile quality tracks. Dunno the name and am to lazy to google it but try that.
Edit: "Pono." And still a work-in-progress. Might be something to keep your eye on though.
I posted this last night when someone mentioned that it was the Civil Support Team, and I wondered why they would be in attendance.

It seems that in the Post 9/11 world, they show up at major events as a contingency.
That's why I said "look." I totally agree with not jumping to conclusions.
Just saying that we so often expect to see a villainous looking creature as the perp... a pair of frat-looking dudes is kind of a shock.
Watching them release those photos made my blood boil. Not because I was expecting it to be a militant (insert cause here), but because my first instinct is to assume that there was no point, no cause to the bombing.
I can accept (logically) bombings in the name of a cause. Not condone, but...
Okay I'm not a Tinfoil Hat kind of guy, and maybe this belongs in P&N, but why would a team like that happen to be at the marathon? Genuine question. Would that imply that there was a suspected valid threat at the event? Or do they go to major events anyway, as a precaution?
Edit: Ah...
Fuji is ending production of cinema film, and Kodak (or what's left of them) is probably close behind. The days of using film for Hollywood movies are all but over. Though there are a few big-time directors that still insist on it (Christopher Nolan is one), whose demand might keep the industry...
Stiiiiiiiilll on the top of my Movies To Watch list. But I'm trying to find a subtitle only version. Is the Netflix streaming one still subtitle + dubbing?
Word.
Stolen - 2/10 I've been on this masochistic quest to watch all of Bruce Willis and Nic Cage's straight-to-DVD films, and...
Really depends what your shooting style is.
>35mm on a crop sensor gets to be a pretty limiting field of view, IMO. But that's because I prefer 35mm on full frame. Some prefer 24mm, some prefer 50mm.
I'm shot with the 35L on full frame for 4 or 5 years now, and probably 70% of all my...
Back in the day when I shot film on the Minolta system, I had their 50 mm f1.7.
Fantastic lens. Super sharp. If you can live with the less-than-half-stop difference, you could probably pick one up for very very cheap.
