If you have it set to not save credentials (say for a public computer) it disables offline mode. If you have that setting checked maybe you can make it there and change it.

This is exactly the conclusion I came to earlier. I hit the wall of diminishing returns as far as CPU/RAM for desktop use is concerned and an SSD is the only bottleneck left to improve that environment.

You're correct. I think some of us in this topic were commenting on our new builds that are on hold for 3 months. It raises some questions on what to do with the CPU.
Considering the loss Intel will take I was questioning if the price of the CPUs will go up in coming months.
I purchased my CPU at Amazon and I did get an RMA number. I was thinking I might keep it after considering the prices for that same CPU might be more expensive come April considering the huge loss Intel will be taking. I can't decide.
It looks like within the last 45 mins they have reversed that decision. I'm now showing that the 6 series are refundable on newegg. I think this is a wise decision on their part. They get to uphold their customer service reputation.
The point of my post was that they (newegg) changed their policy and are not giving refunds for 6 series boards, yet I was able to get an RMA for refund number by demanding one through the live chat. I can't promise everyone will get one, just saying it's worth a shot if you are in the same boat...
