Good whack with a heavy hammer then throw in bin.
Unreliable drives are useless and it wouldn't be wise to continue using them or passing them onto friends/relatives.
I had quite a lot of burnt out ATX connectors when i ran a farm of Athlons for DC projects.
Problem is CPU Voltage regulators being fed from the 5v lines.
You might be able to reuse the PSU again depending how badly burnt the ATX connector is.
What i did was to move the PSU's to machines...
The 805 and 820 make good room heaters.
Rubbsh CPU's really avoid at all costs.
Used to be cheap as chips to buy but dearer than a Rolls Royce to run.
An overclocked 805 can disipate 200 watts or more.
Got a few burnt out MB's here that the 805's killed.
A result of the furnace temps...
First overclocks i remember doing were on old 286 machines.
They didn't have programable clock gen chips, you had to change the crystals.
This normally didn't involve soldering as they were generally fitted into sockets.
There were 2 types electrically the same but different physically...
