I would do that, but is it actually likely to get me a job? I feel like I'm just grasping at straws, chasing so many different possibilities where no one will hire me because I'm too unskilled, instead of focusing on one thing and getting really good at it.
I do apply to low-level roles, but I have to also apply to roles I'm not qualified for. While there might be e.g. 9,000 listings for React roles, maybe only eight of those specifically state that they're open to juniors, and each of those eight will have 300+ applicants.
As I recall, of my...
I am on both SSI and SSDI, so I have the asset limit.
I worked with the local voc rehab, and both agents I had refused to help me with my career goal until I first worked jobs that I am not physically capable of, which they very well knew to be the case. Like they wanted me to work at McDonalds...
Actually in the few interviews I've had, they loved me. My strength is my interpersonal skill, it was my coding that wasn't good enough for what they needed.
The problem is that although I've become a better coder, I don't get interviews at all anymore.
Same issue though, I don't have two years to wait :\. From what I've heard, medical coding may be a reasonable role for me to take until I get a programming job, but again it's possible that I'll be homeless in six months if I don't have a job before then.
Yeah, I'm not even insisting on high pay. I could probably even do O.K. on 40k, which is very low for a junior dev. I believe we normally start at about 55-75k.
The problem is that there's potentially nothing else I can do to support myself. For example, I can't do customer support because I can't spend that much time on the phone due to a different disability. I prefer not going into a list of all my disabilities, because people get annoyed, lol. I...
Background
Unfortunately everything hit at once. COVID, SVB closing, massive tech layoffs, higher interest rates, etc. While it may have been difficult to get a remote job as a junior software dev for a while, it seems to be essentially impossible now.
I’ve been trying for a year to get a job...
I'm actually majoring in CS right now, but because I won't be graduating soon, I found it works against me. People don't want to hire me because they assume I won't have enough time to do school along with a full-time role -- even though I'm just a part time student.
So I took my CS major off...
I do apply for junior roles, but they barely exist at all. Almost all of the listings are for mid-level or senior, so I apply to those and hope they'll consider me for a junior role (that's why my resume mentions junior dev). I believe that's how I got all but one of my interviews.
But yeah, I...
A little context: I'm disabled, and I'm trying to get into web development so I can finally support myself -- and so I can get out of the terrible, terrible city I live in (within USA).
I learned programming (PHP, MySQL) about seven years ago, but at the time going into it as a career wasn't a...
Are those exclusive? Lol.
I am a professional photographer and now videographer too. Mostly I shoot seniors and weddings.
But I'm not going to profit from shooting lotus flowers, so that falls under disposable income.
Rofl. Well, nothing devious... For me, it's a reminder of something -- not going into more detail though.
I'm planning to make a 30x40 print and use a 100MP camera body to capture the image.
I live in southwest South Dakota, and I plan to travel to capture pictures of lotus flowers. Where are the best places for me to go, keeping in mind travel distance, and when should I go?
If my business purchases a vehicle, then as I understand it (of course) cannot count the miles driven and deduct at the IRS rate to pay me. It has to instead count actual expenses.
But what if my business does purchase a vehicle, and I *also* use a personal vehicle for business use? When I use...
Requirements:
Progressive recording, not interlaced.
Uses a capacitor, not a battery (it's very cold where I live).
4k
Which should I consider getting? And I'd prefer one that can also record the rear.
I had two encounters in the last week that made me wish I had a 4k cam instead of 1080...
That leaves me with a small pool of people to date, but I guess if they a lot of trouble finding partners too, that might be okay because my odds of success might be high.
I'm a male, and for a little while I've had my heart set on becoming a stripper. I've been to a male show, I've talked to the female strippers at the local club about the male shows they've been to, I've watched magic mike, I've read a lot of posts on reddit/etc. by male strippers, and for the...
I'm primarily a photographer and soon to be a videographer. Where I live, there are very few clients, and they don't care about quality. I can't be happy doing art unless my productions are technically and compositionally excellent.
I also would like to earn a master's in sport psychology and...
First, what the heck are you two going on about? I'd be required to either keep the records on my premises or with a custodian. The law allows for either. Not dodging any responsibility; I can't guarantee that I'd be at my place of business every week for at least 20 hours per week and every...
Vague because I'm still pretty ignorant.
It would be records compliant with 18 USC 2257. That is: Information about models, cross-referencing to titles of works they're depicted in, etc.
I haven't been able to find an estimate at all, using Google search.
About how much does it cost to hire someone to act as a custodian of records? Assume that the number of records would be small, but that updates to those records may be fairly frequent.
