DSL - Will any modem work?

You will be very hard pressed to find an ADSL modem that is not also a router. But like I mentioned above, you can put the modem in bridge mode and use it with another router - provided that you can use PPPoE. If you must use PPPoA, you're pretty much forced to use the router functions of the modem.

The multifunction print servers I recommend are the Silex SX-2000U2 (wired), the Silex SX-2000WG (wireless) and the Iogear GMFPSU22W6 (wired). The Edimax PS-1206MFg (wireless) isn't too bad, but printing is quite a bit slower and Vista support is limited to 32bit Vista.

Yeah, I thought of that too. I plan to install the Swiftech heatsink the next time I take out the motherboard. I think the NB chip is ok though, at least if the nvidia monitorview utility is accurate at reporting the nForce temperature. At idle it is around 46C and it tops out around 53C.
