I got these last year for mucking about in the Portland wet. Easy to get on/off. I was worried being a slip-on that they would slip on my heel when walking, but they don't. In fact these are the most comfortable walking boots I've ever worn and keep my feet dry. It doesnt get very cold here...

My $1200 - 1440P Gaming Rig - 1st Time Builder

I don't know what MMORPG's the OP is playing but I recently bought the same Sapphire 7970. I'm running a SB 2500k at 4.5mHz and getting a solid 60 fps with all settings maxed in GW2, on a 1440p monitor. I havent even tried OCing the card yet, waiting on a custom bracket to mount my Antec 620...

Thanks everyone for your input, helped a lot in the decision making process. I will look up those posts MTDEW and decide which 7950 to grab. I have to laugh...great deal on a monitor necessitates a GPU upgrade...and on...and on...and on. Vicious cycle heh?

Nope, this 6950 did not unlock for me. I'm heavily leaning toward selling the 6950 to subsidize a 7950, which would come out about the same as picking up a used 6950. My only question is whether that is going to give me the increase I wanted. Should I just bite the bullet for a 7970? Given...

So, I just joined the Korean 1440p IPS monitor craze and while I'm loving the IQ, I'm underwhelmed with my GPU horsepower. Honestly the most taxing thing I play is fully modded Skyrim, but my framerates are averaging low 40's. I'd like better framerates now and the option to play newer games...

5850 a worthy upgrade?

Thank you guys for all your replies! You pretty much confirmed what I was thinking; that my trusty E7200 will last me a bit longer and the 5850 wouldn't be a waste. Oh, and BTW, I'm female .....and no, no pics for you ....lol :P Have a good evening everyone and thanks again.

5850 a worthy upgrade?

This is my system build right now: E7200 Wolfdale running at 3.8GHz Gigabyte EP45-DS3L 4GB G.Skill DDR2-6400 XFX 8800GTS 640, yes the original 90nm and an Antec TruePower New 650w PS I game on a 42" 1080p HDTV. My video card is definitely getting long in the tooth and I'm wondering if a 5850...

Nyko Xbox 360 Intercooler, 2 Controller Batts and Charging station

At my local Big K (Lakewood, WA) I just picked up the Nyko Intercooler, 2 Controller Batteries, and a charging station all packaged together for 10.50. The batteries alone are worth that. YMMV of course, but there were several on the clearance rack at my local store.

NTLDR missing problem

Thanks guys, I did run CHKDSK in the recovery console with no errors. I have not tried repairing the Windows install though. I did notice that when getting the NTLDR is missing message the HD was not being detected in bios. Leading me to believe its not corrupt, just not spinning up...
