Overclocking Oversight

Got it to boot by unconnecting my optical drives and disabling every hdd except the boot drive. Now I just need to figure out which of these devices, if any, is the dead one that was causing the hang at the ACPI pic listing. R

Overclocking Oversight

So I can't boot to a hdd, nor to a CDrom, but it's booted memtest86 fine. I'm going to let this run for a bit to make sure its not my RAM.

No dice, the bios was most definetely cleared. Just cleared it again by taking out the battery, with the same results. Took out the pci cards, same result. Tried booting from the CD-rom drive to a copy of Ubuntu I had lying around, no dice. Don't have another PCIex graphics card around, so I...

My first build ever and I could use some suggestions.

If you just want a slight o/c its pretty easy with the board you have chosen, the bios will do it for you at 3, 5, or 10%. I've always had good luck with zalman stuff in terms of coolers, and they look spiffy. R

Was fiddling with the O/Cing settings of my asus mobo tired the other night, boy what a mistake that was. I forgot to set the PCI clock to stay at 33mHz. So I'm assuming that my PCI cards didn't like it when I cranked up the multiplier on my CPU to 14x. This is all immaterial to my current...
