Thanks for the posts. If I could actually find a 478-pin P4 or Celeron that was faster than this 1.8A, for 10CAD or less, only then would I go for it. Otherwise, it's just a waste of money imo. And, needless to say, it's a stretch to find a faster chip for that little.

Posts in the For Sale/Trade sub-forum should not count towards post count; or at least, any posts made after the initial post. Why? Because many people, myself included, regularly bump their own FS/WTB topics up, and add to their post count in doing so, which, in my opinion, is ridiculous...

Faulty image sensor?

Tried different modules, formatting them, and different batteries as well, though I don't see how any of these would be related to what I see through the viewfinder. That's what I was thinking. So should I contact Canon's customer service directly to try for a repair or replacement?

GeForce 6200 256MB vs. Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB

I actually used to own a 9600 Pro, but passed it over as a hand-me-down. It really wasn't that bad of a card. It managed to run Doom 3 in the mid 20s of FPS iirc. That's not too bad, all things considered.

Looking NVIDIA card that is cool, quiet, and has low power comsumption

This post made me laugh. :P Everything is relative. I'm still perfectly happy with my 6800GT, and I am somewhere in between a casual and hardcore gamer. The 9600GT, being significantly more powerful than the 6800GT, should more than fit the bill for the OP. And there's something to be said...

Best AGP Video Card? ATI? NVIDIA?

Aren't AMD/ATI's AGP drivers really buggy? If so, I'm not sure I would recommend and AMD AGP part, since there's no use in having a lot of horsepower if it can't be put to consistent, reliable use.

Is it true that direct sunlight damages LCD displays? If so, I am assuming this has something to do with the UV light which, over time, breaks apart the crystal compounds used in the display. Using the same logic, wouldn't it also be fair to assume that a halogen desk lamp poses the same risk...

Underwater harpoon - if shot out of water would it go further than if shot underwater?

I would imagine there would be some sort of resistance and drag created by the "splash" of water as the harpoon went through the water-air interface (from water to air), but it would be negligible considering the mass and velocity of the harpoon. By "splash", I guess I mean the water moving back...
