I'm putting together a build for a friend who wants a budget PC that can handle her architectural work, which will mainly consist of revit and adobe suite, but also some rhino and possibly autocad. I was initially considering an Intel build but it seems that her use might benefit from an 8-core...
First a little background:
I've been experiencing erratic boot issues for a while, which encouraged me to replace my aging motherboard/CPU/RAM. The problems were inconsistent, but often video output would cut out after POST, I would restart, say to load windows normally when it told me...

Maybe this deserves its own thread, as I have yet to see it posted, but this card:

is available for $55 after a $20 MIR and the $30 ebillme discount.
So I got a speeding ticket a few months ago and now have to complete traffic school in order to remove the point from my license. Taking the class online seems to be the way to go from what I've heard, but based on a quick google search there are quite a few websites from which to choose. Any...
I found this website through a froogle search: http://www.greatelectronicsusa...fo.php?products_id=479
Shipping appears to be free. Is there any way to tell if they're reputable or not?
What he said! I ended up liking fallout more than oblivion as it offered a similarly open-ended RPG experience with more satisfying combat and a less infuriating leveling system.
Good case. You should note that shipping is free, since often it isn't.
The only problem I've had with it so far is that the elastic bands that hold the HDDs seem to stretch out fairly quickly.
SPCR has a nice review of the Xigmatek, showing a comparable noise to performance ratio with their reference fan (a nexus 120mm, which I believe is an undervolted Yate Loon).
You can see a comparison of temps at the base of this page http://www.silentpcreview.com/article818-page5.html
I'd like to begin by making clear that I am by no means a network expert. Usually if I have to make something work I figure it out as I go and end up solving the problem through trial and error.
So recently our internet connection (AT&T DSL) has been acting strangely. It is often painfully...
Basically I need something that will burn my video files onto a dvd so I can play them in a standard DVD player. I use DeepBurner to do ISO files but as far as I can tell it can only make data DVDs with standard videos. What should i be using?
Right now I can't get both my hard drive and DVD burner to work at the same time. If I try plugging in just one onto the ribbon cable, they work fine, but if both are plugged in, then my computer can only recognize one. Could this be a cable select issue where I just have to move the jumper on...
FYI there's also 13% cash back on fatwallet for Shoes.com right now.
Not sure how this would work with the Mr. Rebates, but it's slightly higher and might be preferred by those that use fatcash.
Good choice on the PSU, but you can get it for much cheaper here:

I would recommend getting a hard drive other than the seagate 7200.10 if you care about noise. If so, the samsung spinpoints As bamacre said you can also find a better...
I bought this at around $16 shipped AR and that seems like a decent deal. It's quieter and cools better than the intel stock HSF. From the reviews I've seen, it is very very similar to the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro in both noise and performance.
Ditto. I can't wait for his new album to come out. He's such a lyrical genius it's amazing. And always remember the four main things in his life: Champagne, Glamour, Sex, and Respect!
Try rail baron - that one's a lot of fun. Also, Illuminati, while it isn't really a board game, is great if you can get at least four or so people together.
I'm pretty sure if it was a '93 then that would have been an e36, the next generation.
Thanks for the info and encouragement. I've already posted a thread on bmwe30.net and those guys have been pretty. I'll definitely check out the other forum too.
I just got an email response from the guy answering a few questions and this was what he had to say regarding the transmission leak:
"- The transmission just had the fluid changed and they figured out the leak was coming from the input shaft. By my understanding the whole transmission would...
I've always liked BMW e30's for some reason. I think they look cool and from what I've heard they drive well. About a week ago I saw one on craigslist for $2300. It seemed to be in fairly good condition with a few minor problems that would need to be resolved. I checked again today and the guy...
