Oh I'm sure it's celsius lol. RealTemp shows anywhere from 90-100degrees celsius when idle... When touching the hsf, it's warm but not hot. Are my sensors fubared? There is a thin layer of thermal paste on there from the stock hsf, not too much or too little. I'll post a screenshot when I get...

PC getting stuck at bios splash screen...

Sounds like a bad disk; set it up as a slave in your PC and see if Windows can detect it. If it can, disk may be corrupted and needs a format. If not, disk is most likely "dead"

So I just built my Core i7 machine and have a bit of an issue. I'm not overclocking but would like my system to reach its potential under full load. When using prime95, my core speed instantly drops to 663mhz with a multiplier of 5x. In addition, system reports idle temps of 85 degrees Celsius...

Whoever says it kills your hard drives keeping the computer on is lying. I had 4 hard drives fail within 2 years by turning off and on my PC daily (these hard drives were less than 3 years old). Ever since I have been keeping it on, no problems since :) Not one of my parts have died from keeping...

New Laptop came with Vista - Slow Booting Up

Hide License Key

Any volume license CD or the specific one Microsoft sends out to you? If it's bound to your volume license CD, I don't see a reason to hide it (as long as your IT department locks up software). If it's universal and can be used on any volume license CD then ignore me :)

WD 150GB Raptor vs. Seagate 7200.10

I noticed a huge bump in speed going from a 7200.10 to a 74 GB raptor. Computer boots faster, games load faster and everything seems a bit snappier.

NTLDR missing problem

I don't know if this is a problem with some boards or just the DFI, but when I used to receive that error, in the BIOS my drive would somehow set itself to CHS(or CH5, something with a damn C) instead of LBA. If this even pertains to you, you may want to make sure it's set to LBA.

Is MS Vista such a huge turn off that people (me) should consider Apples?

You shouldn't have to get involved with OS development when you're paying upwards of $400. Sorry. You pay for something you expect final; not half assed. If you want to be okay with Microsoft never being able to really release a stable version of Windows and having to wait 6 months to a year...

Was just going to ask about the clamps. You think a T-Line is better? I don't think im capable of drilling a holding spot at the top of my case for it and don't really want anything sticking out the back either.

x64 or not?

I noticed Windows x64 is a bit snappier than 32 bit. Hardware compatibility is it's major drawback. Needless to say, I went back to 32 bit.

Will I encounter any problems with Dual Boot XP Home + XP MCE ?

Well, edit for stupid qusetion. If you had 2 HD's you'd just back up the stuff onto that. I don't think windows likes 2 versions on the same HD. It may work at first but it really doesn't play well. If it's on a second HD you'd be fine.

XP hangs at startup

So recently my computer decides it wants to hang at startup. It boots fine, see the loading bar for all of 3 seconds and goes to the desktop super fast but then things get hairy. Basically the only things I have at bootup are AIM and MSN Messenger. When I get to the desktop usually AIM pops up...

You say you have the BFG 7600 GT? I have that card also. The fan comes on when loading a game or when I first boot on the computer (when I say turn on I mean to the point where I hear it). I ran the card fine in vista and it never turned on loud unless I went to load a game. Might want to check...
