    Malware Port Forwarding?

I recently noticed on the UPnP page of my Orange Livebox that I have aquired two new entries. They are marked as "SkypeTCPat..." and "SkypeUDPPat...". I don't use Skype or have willingly installed Instant Messaging. How do I get rid of it? Thanks.

    From Win98 to where?

    Problems connecting two routers

For the last few years I have been using an SMC7404WBRA Barricade ADSL router. A change of house necessitated a new ISP account which came with an Orange Livebox. This only has two Ethernet ports so I purchased a Netgear FS105 switch. I wanted to keep the Barricade so that I can use the...

I need to expand the output of an Orange ADSL 'Livebox' to network, via CAT5E, some PCs and Logitech 'Squeezeboxes'. I have come down to a choice of the DLink DES-1008D, Netgear FS608 and FS108 (the FS608 in a metal box at twice the price?!). Does anybody have a view as to the better choice...

    Shared internet speed problem

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I too have come to the conclusion that it is my router. I already have Azureus set to 50 connections and a max upload speed of 30Kbs. As I am about to move into a new house with CAT6 I need a new router anyway and was thinking about a D-Link DSL-2540B ADSL2/2+...

    Pulling CAT6

Guys, many thanks for the responses and sanity check! You agree with what I thought but I was thrown somewhat by the 'advice' on the cable vendor's site. Here in France all cables have to run in plastic conduit (gaine) so there are no sharp bends between the patch panel and wall jacks. It's...

Hi Rockhead. Interesting that you chose the GA-MA69GM-S2H board. Did the reported high heat output worry you? A number of reviews picked up on the northbridge getting very hot but someone from Gigabyte has said that a BIOS revision has cured it. Dunno how a BIOS change could alter the heat...
