Where is licence info kept?

I have an app that is causing problems and the vendor has sent me a new serial number and told me to reinstall. I have uninstalled the old version and manually removed any registry entries but each time I reinstall it picks up the old serial number. Can anybody advise as to where this info...

Portege R200 - XP not recognising hardware

Thanks for the response heymrdj. Your link to the BIOS worked but the re-flashed BIOS didn't cure the problem. I also downloaded all of relavant drivers from the Toshiba Support site but these also didn't help. I am resigned to it being a hardware problem...:(

Hi, thanks very much for the response. I have already downloaded the 'Chipset Utilities' file from the Toshiba support site but it didn't cure the problem. I am starting to believe that it is a hardware problem...:(

Malware Port Forwarding?

I recently noticed on the UPnP page of my Orange Livebox that I have aquired two new entries. They are marked as "SkypeTCPat..." and "SkypeUDPPat...". I don't use Skype or have willingly installed Instant Messaging. How do I get rid of it? Thanks.

Problem with Windows Update on Vista 64

Update: Only entry in 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions ' is the default; "REG_SZ (value not set). Launching 'gpedit.msc' gives; "MMC could not create the snap-in". Back to the drawing board I guess....

From Win98 to where?

My wife has a fairly old Toshiba Portege 7100 laptop which is running Win98. Support is becoming a pain with antivirus products etc. becoming incompatible. Is there an upgrade path to another OS which isn't going to slow it to a standstill?
