2T hangs my system up. I can't even post with 2T, so... I don't use it. Tests have showed that there isn't as big difference between 2T and 1T with DDR2s as the DDR(1) had, but of course it would be optimal to use 1T if possible.

It's obvious that an integrated soundschip is at a poor quality level, if you're using analog plugs. The whole thing changes if you have an amplifier where you connect your PC to, via S/PDIF. After that the signal goes out digitally (0's and 1's) and the amplifier handles the rest, so the sound...

Well, some of my friends said that DFI has failed in these AM2-generation mobos. The 939-socket was terrific, but the AM2 seems not to have the O/C stability and performance that the 939 did in DFI's mobos... I like this M2N-E, but it would be really nice to have more voltage for DDRs, after...

Flashing a SLI-BIOS is impossible to this mobo, you can flash it, but it won't work correctly, and downgrading back to the M2N-E bios is also impossible from the SLI bios. They have succesfully replaced the exact bios chip from the sli-board to this m2n-e board, but no one has flashed a working...

Yeah, I didn't find anything different either...still waiting for the x64-Vista-drivers :/ By the way, it's a pity that you can't flash your bios from a USB-flash memory anymore via EZ-Flash. That option was in the 0305 BIOS, but after 0402 that option has been gone.

No, these nF5xx-boards do not include nVidia firewall. I think it was too buggy.

    1. I'm using G.Skill 5-5-5-15 800MHz DDR2, 2x2GB kit, and it's working fine. Just check that the RAMs you're about to purchase, are meant to operate at voltages between 1.8V and 2.0V 2. M2N-E doesn't slow those components down. I'm running 4200+ X2 and Geforce 7900GT nicely.

You should try to set the timings for the DDRs manually. Try to set timings 5-5-5-15-2T instead of Autos. You can set them up in the CPU Setup (or something like that, couple menus below Jumperfree....) And from the Jumperfree-menu set the overclock-switch to manual and set the FSB to 200, CPU...

Well, I think that they're just trying to gain more time to make their buggy drivers work. That type of answer is quite a common one from Asus' tech support, they really think that every one, who sends a query, is a total dumb and knows nothing about computers & softwares.

Yep, well I couldn't boot my system up when I was using FSB over 229MHz with 0305 BIOS. When I updated it to 0402, I could post with higher FSB and I'm now using 246MHz*11 for my 4200+ X2. Funny, I contacted to the Asus Support and asked if they could send me some kind of USB drivers for...

The option to disable AMD Live has been there from 0302, if I don't remember wrong. At least my 0305 did have that option.

Yep, I haven't seen any changes from 0402 yet. Let me know if you find one.

http://img163.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cpuz1bc6.jpg http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/3324/cpuz2tg8.jpg As you can see, 0501 BIOS is in and running, but I'm afraid that I have to tell you guys... there's still a 1.95V max VDIMM. Those bastards.

Could you post a direct link? The 0402 Beta is deleted from the Asus' website, so I think it's coming there too.. EDIT: I found it myself, thanks for the info :P

If I was you, I would test the DDRs first. That's more likely a memory issue than a hdd issue, 'cause WD has always manufactured very high quality hdds. Try to make your mems lower, make the setting from BIOS to 667MHz and give them 1.95V voltage.

Ok. Hmm, I tried to run my CPU with 305*9 today, but it seems that I can't use 9 as a multiplier. System Posted at 11*305. Maybe there's a little bug in the BIOS or sth.. Now running 11*250.

Which coolers are you using? I'm using Zalman 9500AM2 in a Antec P150 case, and I can't even imagine of 1.55VCORE :P It would toast my CPU. I'm running on 1.4Volts and 2640MHz right now, and my CPU's loadtemp is 61°C.

    *** Official ASUS M2N-E Thread ***

Well, that's quite obvious, 'cause as you have two cores, your CPU produces ~30% more heat than a single core does. Hmm, I updated my BIOS to 0402 Beta today and got rid of those boot problems. I'm running now 246MHzx11 and system is stable and booting well.

Well, every mobo and every CPU are unique, one can't tell which settings are the best for your system. You just have to test which suits you best. I've used FSB 240x11, DDR667, 1.95VDIMM and 1.40VCORE, but I can't boot correctly with that setup. System is stable, but has some boot issues, my...

Well, I've been in touch with three different "Asus techincans", and every of them have said that they are aware of the "problem" and the lack of the VDIMM is to gain stability (LOL). I said to everyone of them that that's a total opposite of gaining stability since the most of DDR2-kits like to...

    *** Official ASUS M2N-E Thread ***

I'm using 0305-BIOS and I can't use FSB over 229 if I like to reboot normally. My system is stable with 240FSB too, but I can't boot more than once without clearing the CMOS. There's a few bugs in the BIOS I think. I hope they fix it to the next stable BIOS, I'm really not a friend of BETA-BIOSes.

    *** Official ASUS M2N-E Thread ***

Well, you just have to format the mp3-player to a FAT-filesystem and copy the .bin-file in it. Then reboot and go to BIOS and start the EZ-Flash-utility. It detecs the USB-drive and gives you info of the .bin-file. Simple. And of course you don't flash your BIOS if there's no...

    *** Official ASUS M2N-E Thread ***

Hmm, I received a new M2N-E yesterday, because my old one didn't like to last longer. There's a 0305-BIOS in this mobo, and I saw that this BIOS isn't officially released at the Asus's website. Well, this BIOS seem not to have any kind of difference between the 0304... this one does have the...

    *** Official ASUS M2N-E Thread ***

Well, that's obviously a memory issue. Your RAMs are getting too low voltage to operate properly, or they are not supported by the motherboard. That's the main problem with the M2N-E, because there's only 1.95V available for RAMs, and most of the DDR2-kits would like to have more than 2.1V. Try...

    *** Official ASUS M2N-E Thread ***

Yep, that would be nice to know if it was possible. I don't know have you guys noticed that CPU-Z says there's a 570 SLI-chipset in M2N-E when you've flashed newer bios than 0302. With the original BIOS, CPU-Z says that there's a nForce 570 Ultra-chip... so, that _could_ be possible.

Yes, they put the BIOS _chip_ in it, I think that none of us doesn't have a spare BIOS chip from M2N-SLI ;)

Damn, it looks like there could be an update coming for vdimm? M2N-E would rock after that.. I have this G.Skill-kit and it did run @ 920MHz with MSI K9N Ultra, but with M2N-E and 1.95V, there's no hope to overclock at all :| By the way, does anyone else have the problem, when using...
