Nope your PSU is a shocker, can't believe you'd even try overclocking with readings that low, can you imagine how inconsistent it is? INVEST! (A good PSU will last you through many systems/upgrades).

Froodent76, It's best to change the sticks then restart the machine and change bios settings before booting. I have recently changed mine too and experienced slightly less stability with DDR2 than my old DDR400, I now have a stable config again running the DDR2 at 533 rather than Auto and...

helvetio, you REALLY need to address that question to the chaps on the graphics card forum rather than this forum, it is VERY unlikely that this mobo will have any impact on the overclock of your 7900, that will be down to your PNY card, it's cooling and your PSU quality.

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

Silent, I really think you should address your question to the bods on the graphics forum (2.10 is a better BIOS BTW). Good luck against Wigan on Sunday, the Toffees should thrash 'em, they're in freefall anyway. Watch the Gooners feed the the Red Devils their own entrails (again) on Sunday!

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

Fair enough, but I would prefer the Tagan over the Thermaltake anyday. Anyway THE number one symptom of an ageing/crap PSU is the large 12V rail drop (remember you're not reading the voltage at the motherboard under full load if you're reading a molex!). Poor quality DC smoothness is due...

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

I don't really think a £35 PSU is good enough for ANY overclocking attempts, the raw wattage is irrelevant, stability under load is King. Unless you have a quality PSU costing upwards of £75 you will never eliminate it from your enquiries. 11.13V is WAY too low for stability. Buy cheap, buy...

I'm sorry techwool I just don't buy it, this DEFINITELY sounds like PSU problems to me. What make, model, and rating is your PSU?

MIDIman, if you're stuck then do a repair install of Windows XP, this won't lose any of your progs or data, then install all the service packs, windows updates etc. BEFORE you install any T/P hardware drivers.

Perhaps you would like to save your obviously extremely valuable time and avoid posting unless you have something useful to contribute, perhaps garnered from your wide experience with this board. Gee whizz Luminair (sic), this thread is for people who OWN and USE the 775Dual-VSTA, where did you come from? If you check my sig you'll see that you're talking total nonsense and that a bit of work produces excellent results for so little money. Now you get real and get your dad to go...

GODDEH, is it possible that the DDR2 modules are not correctly installed, since you have already mounted the mobo in the case it can be very difficult to apply enough force to fully snap them in. Also make sure that you load the failsafe defaults in bios and then reboot before tinkering...
  15. H

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

GODDEH, you'll need to upgrade the bios (consensus suggests version 2.10 is best, and I agree) to get your new DDR2 working properly. You must have formatted the HD incorrectly to get a smaller partition, no matter, you can get the other 100 GB by creating an extra partition in disk...

...You'll be lucky! This board has no core voltage adjustment, pretty important for overclocking P4D. Oldhoss, the ONLY reason to buy this board is to reuse all your old gear, although the Audigy might create issues. The NV 8800 does not work with this VIA chipset, period.

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

MKD, it doesn't matter which C2D you have; the only important difference is the locked multiplier, in your case this is x7, in my case (E6400) it is x8, E6600 = x9 etc. etc. etc. I believe that the X6800 has an unlocked multi, hence the absurd cost! Try my overclock settings posted earlier...

Ditch the Audigy! Nearly everyone has a NIGHTMARE with these cards, even older mobo's hate Audigys' They are SO finicky about which slot they're in, which IRQ, DMA, IO Address etc. that they're more trouble than they're worth. Use the onboard sound, it's pretty good really. The X800XT is a...

PaulNEPats, the stock cooler is more than good enough, I get about 40C idle and 45C under full load and that's an E6400 running faster than an E6600! Just modded my 7800GS with a nice new cooling system, great results; 500/1400, 55C at full load. Gonna post the 'How To' in Videocard forum...

orbiter, is it possible that your 7600GS is overheating and throttling? You really ought to ask the chaps in the graphics forum since this clearly isn't motherboard related. Maybe a driver issue, did you clean up (DCPro) after changing your 6200 out?

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

LasseB, yes, you're probably the only one having this trouble. vangeezer, that Jeantech PSU is a P.O.S. The ratings written on the side will bear no relationship to reality whatsoever, especially so if the PSU* (spit) is a couple of years old. Help NUB find power supply for ABIT NF7

Au contraire Beachboy, I had my primary system on NF7-S for years running insane overclocks on watercooling and if there's one component that you simply MUST not skimp on it's the PSU, I even eventually killed an Enermax 431W! Headroom is always a good idea for stability. Older tech means...

  37. H

Help NUB find power supply for ABIT NF7

If you're planning to overclock with the NF7 at all then you need a really good PSU with at least 400W and really beefy 12v rail. PC P&C, OCZ, Antec, Tagan, Enermax etc. are all good.
  38. H

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

Have you tried setting the default display adaptor to PCIe rather than AGP in the bios BEFORE you change the cards over? Otherwise I suspect your power supply may be junk, you don't mention it which suggests you probably don't have enough juice to run the card! (see my sig for PSU reality check) :)
