I dont have to go with those exact options, and i think getting the 2900 would be a better idea as i can then upgrade better. I will probably end up getting the 2900XT as thats the only model sold on dabs.
My processor is the e6600, which ive managed to overclock to 3ghz and still have...
would 1 8800GTS or 2 X1950 run in crossfire run better on my pc. (dont want to spend much more then £200, if there are different cards for that price that perform better then pleas tell me.
my motherboard doesnt support sli, but it does support crossfire, so i cant do 2 nvidia.
i currently...
I recently purchased 2 19 inch widescreen monitors (HannsG HW191D). My install of xp was completly new so i had to install the drivers for my video card. Before i installed the drivers it was the usual 800*600 resolution stetched accross the screen.
So after installing the drivers i was then...
ive been using this board with a sata hdd (with vista on it) and have a spair ide hdd i would like to install and use xp on. ive got 2 optical drives installed on the primary ide slot so i have to use the seconday, but for some reason it doesnt "know" that ive plugged the hdd in, and therefore...
it can be the ram, thats what my problem was. just try spair components (if you have any) and check every component. its best to be thorough when your pc is faulty, even the most unsuspected components can be the cause sometimes.
i had that problem a few months ago, turned out to be a faulty stick of ram, helps to have some spair parts to check with. if you can, use different parts and see if it boots, then replace them one by one and then when it fails you found the problem.
ive been using this board for a few months now and its good. I have a sata hdd with vista installed on it, and ive got an ide hdd that i want to install xp on(you really hate vista after a while) but the mb doesnt seem to know the ide drive is there so i cant install xp on it. any idea how i can...
The one i took out wasnt right near the hsf, but the non-faulty one is.
Im pretty sure it was fully seated, ive taken it out and put in back in and tried it in other sockets and it still didnt work.
No. There was no dirt or dust on it.
No. All the pins are fine.
turns out is was the ram. I took out one stick of it and the pc worked perectly. Ill test the other stick and see if its faulty or whether its a problem with the mb or soemthing with having two sticks of ram. at least my pc works again.
The fact that after the first start up after a few hours it doesnt post and no video shows up suggests that its not anything to do with software (it it was software then the pc would at least boot). I will test the memory tonight to rule that out. Is it possible that the cpu is overheating? it...
recently my pc has stopped working. I can turn it on and it boots up fine, but a minute or two after loggin on the screen freezes and nothing happens. So i restart it doesnt post, and the moniter doesnt show anything or come out of stand by mode. Trying to start up after this also doesnt work...
When i have enough money i am going to get 2 widescreen monitors. I have found these 2 that i like the looks of but not sure which one to go for (or which one is better)
19'' Samsung SM941BW Widescreen
19'' AG Neovo K-A19 WideScreen
Will this tv tuner work with windows vista? i have looked around but havnt been able to find anything. And also does anyone know where i can buy this in the UK, also i have looked and found nothing.

my tv tuner ^^ doesnt seem to work at all with vista. I have downloaded the vista drivers for it that should work but vista doesnt seem to recognise them. I tell it where the driver files are and it just says it cant find any there. Does anyone know how to fix this?
my C2D temps are Core 0: 28c Core 1: 25c Core 0 seems to allways be higher for me, and although those temps are ilde if i havnt used my pc for a few hours (left turned on and everything) then the temps are 20c, lovely and low.
I have just built a new pc and am going to test its stability, what programs do i use for what? This is the first time ive built a pc so ive never tested for stability before.
i dont see why everyone is constantly complaining about vista, i upgraded to it and use it as my primary OS (as i just built a new pc i thought id get vista instead of XP) and i have had NO problems with it, i love it.
if they are both blowing in the same direction then this should theoretically increase ariflow. (if you have 2 20CFM fans then the total should be about 40CFM) though i am not enitrly sure of this.
i am thinking of getting the antec 900 to house my first non pre-built system but have a couple of questions i need to ask first.
will a big typhoon fit inside the case(i have heard that this hsf is BIG)
how long do the mb power connectors need to be(apparently some poeple have had...
nah i dont really like the looks of that one, i will be happy with the antect 900 if i new the answers to the 2 above questions (will the big typhoon fit and how long do the mb power cables need to be as the psu is mounted at the bottom).
is there enough room inside this case for a big typhoon and how long do the mb power cables need to be to reach the connections(i have an antec neoHE 500W and an asus P5W DH Deluxe)
i recently bought an aspire x-plorer but have found out about the intake problems and i am heavily thinking of getting the antec 900, it looks good and has great cooling. But one thing ive noticed in all the photos of the case is that there is the wire mesh all the way up the front of the case...
yeah but then where would the intake come from, specs on the internet say the front is for intake and rear/top for exasust. so aspire made it with the front being the intake in mind so youd think they would have had an ample area for sucking the air in.
yes that seems to be exactly what would be needed.
the mesh stuff on the front would let air pass through but there solid plastic behind it preventing the air from getting through.
does anyone know of any fans that are made to be used in the drive bays because i recently got an aspire x-plorer and found out that the intake at the front only has a little gap at the bottom to suck air in. I wont have all the parts to build for another 2 weeks so i cant test the airflow yet...
I just got a new asus p5w dh deluxe and the bios chip doesnt have a sticker on it, is there any other way of telling what bios it has other than booting it up (cant do that as i dont have the cpu yet and wont have it for another 2 weeks).
if you have more intake then there will be a negative pressure which spaces out the air particles more making the temperature lower, although this will pull dust in through all the little cracks it can get through so as evenly as possable would also be good.
i think he mean hide it somewhere from view so you cant see it but still lights up all of the case, just just above the window on the side, cant see anything there but its not blocked by anything and therefore wont be affected.
