Thanks for your suggestions guys, I found out what the problem was, Antec SP-500PGB psu is faulty, it couldn't even power up an old P4 which is currently powered by a 180w psu. So, I found a Tagan 600W dual engine. I wouldn't recommend it in a P180 case - very snug fit, cannot use lower fan...
Thanks anyway excaliburh 2k. If I don't get any solution by the end of the weekend I'm just going to start sending things back, I don't have time to be wasting on things like this. Good luck with your problem.
Thanks excaliburh2k, I've tried swapping ram, also tried it with only cpu installed. I've also tried booting outside of the case and clearing the cmos. How do I alter the memory voltage without getting into the BIOS?
I'm having real trouble with this piece of ****. Why didn't I just buy a rig rather than insist on building another one! Here goes, hit power on and the case fans turn slightly, the blue Asus led flashes red then returns to blue. Nothing else happens.
