New MOBO and CPU

New mobo usually equals a new Windows install. If I were you I would copy your stuff to your gaming rig and then reinstall the things you need after you do a clean install on the new computer. Easiest way is to just put the hard drive in the other computer.

Jumpy mouse in Vista?

Had a similar problem with a generic laptop optical mouse, on XP. Don't think we ever figured it out. It was a fun handicap in shooters when you stare at the sky and spin in circles for a second. Might try other surfaces and see if that does anything.

What was the first machine in your farm?

Mine was my trusty Athlon64 3200+ Started out on classic SETI. Despite it being the original Clawhammer variant I managed to get it up to 2.4ghz. Still running strong, and it's now my backup gaming comp. :)

Firefox Question (resolved)

That works most of the time, but a few that I know have icons won't show. Oh well, not a big deal. Found a way around it, if I bookmark the main site, say anandtech.com, then the icon will show up as it should. But bookmarking a specific place, say...

When making bookmarks is there a way I can get the icons next to the web address to stick with the bookmark link. It always seems random whether or not the icon will be there or not after I bookmark a page. Thanks

Trying to load Sins on a friend's laptop, Toshiba Satellite A105 (intel 945 graphics) running XP, and the game menu is solid white with no text. Saw that people were having this problem when running through Steam, but Steam isn't on this computer. Tried rebooting a few times, and versions 1.0...

Optical or Laser Mice

Had that exact problem after a few years on mine, talked to Logitech about it, and eventually it stopped charging at all. Asked if they would send me a new charger, so they sent me a retail MX-Revo free of charge. :D The new power plug from that one fixed the charging problem.

Optical or Laser Mice

Laser here, have had an MX1000 since they came out. Still use various ball mice (not trackball) now and then, but I cant stand optical for some reason. Probably because I game at a very low sensitivity. Play pretty much everything: RPGs, Shooters, RTSs, etc.

new build, no video on power on - *fixed

Pretty hard to get a 775 in backwards. If the 20/4 pin wires are zip tied together they most likely intend it to be used for a 24 pin. Odds are if the single 4pin isn't plugged in, the comp won't turn on. Do you have a PSU with both connectors to try?
