Need a new game suggestion, worn out on Bethesda

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning This is a very large world. Story by a R.A. Salvatore and Todd McFarlane on the Art. Action packed fighting mechanics and just an all-around beautiful environment. I may have to reinstall.

Which game have you played the most non-stop?

Don't post often, but I had to share that Ultima Online was definitely my choice for long gaming sessions. Once played for basically a whole weekend. I think the thing that made this most epic was that it was in the infancy of dial-up in my area, so none of the ISPs really new what they were...

Well, after reading those pages, it appears that as long as I download and burn to media on a win7 64bit machine, I should be able to install straight onto a newly built computer. With the possible exception being that I might have to do a registry tweak. Am I following correctly?

well, the install would be a clean win8 install - keeping nothing. I just read that if you can download and burn the installer on a 64bit install, you can clean install 64bit over a 32bit. Does that make sense? And, is it worth the chance?

the new box will be 64-bit and the xp sp3 box will be 32-bit. I suppose I could download the installer image on this box that is win7 64-bit, but will the installer work correctly on the xp install? the mysteries continue...=/ thanks for the input though =)

so I just talked to a service rep for Microsoft and they said I'd have to have winxp sp3 installed on my new computer before I could upgrade to win8....this sux...anyone have a different experience? Thanks for the help!

hmm...well, my current second box has a copy of xp running...maybe that will be the sacrifice. I wish I felt better about upgrading =(. Seems there is quite a bit of negative vibe going around. I'm tempted to buy another copy of win7 instead...

What do you think of the 8 gb of ram included with the mobo you linked in the other thread? Should I consider 16gb for another $50? Will that be a big benefit? I'm thinking I'll surf the BF deals at newegg tomorrow and see how cheap I can upgrade =). Thanks for the help on this!

Thanks for the reply, IPF 1. Base model with the plastic wheel covers. 2. I think the trim does come off, but I'm not sure how to do it. I am however, game to sand and spray a bit to fix the issue. Worst case, I just tape off. Justin

Just tried CCleaner, since it seems well regarded, and it found quite a bit of stuff to remove. I think the HijackThis suggestion is a good one - usually I can identify the most common threats, but I'll try posting as well. J

Just used safe mode and system restore to back up a day before my in-laws mistakenly installed a rogue anti-virus. They were using the admin account for general use, and I intend to set them up as a user now. I'm running super anti-spyware, malwarebytes and Avast scans as a preventative sweep...
