Which 120Hz?

you know all this talk of people who have gotten 120hz monitors saying they would never go back to 60hz is funny to me. I had the Alienware 120hz and was happy as all to get rid of it and go back to a IPS 60hz. I play plenty games including an occasional FPS and would much rather have an IPS...

nice setup although the most important thing to me I cannot see/tell, the sound setup. How are you setup for audio? Edit: Nevermind I had to blow up the picture and see those rinky dink speakers he has between the monitors. Any plans on upgrading those? It would be an awful waste with that...

Buying low/mid-level card, need advice

I picked up the XFX 5670 512MB card cause I needed a single slot, I have a half height PCI card right underneath the PCI express x16 slot and all other slots are full. The fan isnt blocked at all cause its far enough out. After rebates its the same price as the sapphire card so I say go for...

video card for 360W power supply

I have been having difficulty finding the most powerful video card that will work with a 360W power supply. More specifically one that will work with only 15A available on the 12v rail. Let me know if there are any viable options or if I should just stick with the onboard video of the G31...

Why the GTX470 was right for me.

They may have a 10 year plan but its been 6 years between each generation. Playstation 1994 Playstation 2 2000 Playstation 3 2006 Judging by that the Playstation 4 or whatever they call it should be 2012. I put the GELID ICY cooler on my 470 and it runs pretty darn quiet...

got a quick question for you guys, what video card(s) can run FFXIV at 1024x768 at least decently but doesnt use much power and is a single slot? The system is a core 2 duo 2.93Ghz w/ 4gb DDR2 RAM and the huge limitation on it is power (300W peak) and heat. Let me explain, this is a car PC...

micro ATC tower case without external drive bays?

Nothing specific I am looking for, just wanting to keep case dimensions as low as possible. I have a mini-itx motherboard now but I will need to expand to two slots in the near future and the riser and splitter adapters that are flexible are a bit ridiculous in price to consider. So...

micro ATC tower case without external drive bays?

I like that one the best, but still so much wasted space with the drive bays, I am only fitting one 2.5" drive in the system and the PCI-e cards are about 7" long give or take. Also the price for just the case is a bit steep.

Pretty much what the title says, are there any Micro ATX cases that dont have external drive bays and only one internal 3.5/2.5" bay? Been trying to see if anyone makes a tower but without external drive bays to cut down on size/weight but to no avail.

Thanks for the response, I was leaning toward the asrock board since it was cheaper and I couldnt find any differences. Thanks for the advice on the cases. the HAF series seem to be a style I like the most out of all that you recommended. Any other recommendations?

Anyone got an aftermarket cooler on a gtx 470?

I have a GTX 470 in the mail and did a little bit of research on aftermarket coolers so I can drop the temps and hopefully decrease the noise as well since those seem to be pretty consistent complaints and I saw the GELID ICY VISION that came out recently. There are several reviews out there...

Well I never said I was looking at $200 price range. My price point is pretty flexible, I can do $400 if price/performance is there. And yes I plan to run at 19x12 as that is the native resolution of my two monitors.

Eh, I had ordered some TST2's, and the TC1 center and I wasnt impressed with them at all. Couldnt stand the top end on them, I sent them back within 30 days after break in period and proper tuning. I had the hardest time with getting in contact them, via email I never received responses...

Got water in a lens, anyway to clean it?

When I called them they said a typical cleaning and calibration is a flat rate of $155. Apparently on all lenses they have flat rates of either $155 or $300, the $155 is a 'minor' repair and the $300 is a 'major' repair. Got the estimate back and apparently they consider mine a 'major'...

Yeah, I was afraid to hear that too, but figured I would just send the D300 in first and then go from there. Got the estimate back from nikon about the camera and looks like they are going to be able to repair it and not cost me too much. We will see if the battery grip is gone too. Good...

yep, battery grip was on, tried it with battery grip off as well, different batteries, just about any combination. I already sent them both off to Nikon and Tamron, respectively.

the D300 doesnt turn on at all so no way of trying to take a picture. Was left out in the rain on the porch railing for a good 10 minutes, not a hard rain, but not a light drizzle either. It turned on but acted very weird immediately after it got wet and after drying it out it didnt turn on...

I talked with support at Nikon and they said that they cant give quotes until they can look at it. Sometimes it could be beyond repair, but the cool thing with Nikon is that they said just to send it to them and they will check it out, if they determine its beyond repair they will just send it...

Yeah, I never understood that either. Heck, you cant even mount the darn thing to a wall. Many many reasons why apple only has 5-6% of the market in the US and IIRC its even less worldwide. Its always funny to me how they try to compete with microsoft, but they arent even in the same league.

Thanks billb2, but the blower will require a AC/DC converter and pulls entirely too much power, on top of that cost is too high so I will have to pass on this. Some of those fans are interesting though but arent those incorrect CFM's? the one you listed that is 190 I can only find specs...

Wow, I didnt see those, very nice CFM's, definitely will consider those bad boys, thanks! I would like the grills and filters, but that place charges $2 for the stupid grill, is that normal pricing? I never really looked at pricing for them.
