DS3 with an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum under Windows Vista RTM ... sound works for the first 20 sounds then fails ;) If I test my 5.1 speaker system using the Visa Speaker Configuration it works for 2 rounds then starts to go silent.
Anyone else?
Has the F8 BIOS been released? Upgrade advice from F7? I'm running VISTA RTM on this system and figure I better keep up with BIOS updates. Sleep works OK except the cpu fan keeps a runnin?
Anyone know of a cpu temperature monitor that works under Vista RC2 with this board.
Running A E6600 at 3.24Ghz with a undersized 1u server heatsink I am testing ;) Seems pretty damn stable. Have some Muskin 667 RAM in there, 4gb of it.
Went to Costco in Austin, TX. They had the Viewsonic (exact Costco tag #) - but $349.99 - and when it rang up it was stil $349.99. They would not honor the online price... so ordering it online and will return one.
Been using it since January 2006 on the Presler chips (Pentium D 9xx). Should also be fine on Core or Core 2 chipsets -- but the older Core chipsets are only 32-bit and VT + 32bit is kind of a short-term dead end.
Slight threadjack: Can someone help me track down the best prices for 2GB DDR modules. Either 4GB kits (2x2GB) or single 2GB modules. I don't need performance, 533Mhz is fine - but I do need the 2GB modules and want a good price as I need to purchase like 12 of them.
Thank you.
I've had mine for 4 days and using it full time... I'm a full time laptop user, my other is a Thinkpad T42 that is about 14 months old. I need the new CPU for a project (Xen Linux) so the acer seemed like a good choice...
Problems so far:
1) if you put the lid down while system is...
APC = huge marketing budget and always making exotic products (they have too much profit in their accounts for my taste). Tripp Lite = expensive but consistent. Belkin = makes knock-off copies of every popular product made (router, UPS etc).
This particular UPS seems to be nice... I like the...
Newegg on refurbs almost NEVER if EVER includes cables... and I mean important cables that are proprietary to the motherboard you can't purchase anywhere. Be warned.
Huh?
Please revise your subject.
There is such a thing as:
External USB 2.0 DVD reader.
External USB 2.0 Memory Card reader.
External USB 2.0 WiFi network adapter.
Just because it says "USB 2.0" that does not mean it is a memory card reader.
Vol 2 is only 379 minutes - that isn't much for a $60 tv dvd... I guess I'm spoiled by West Wing and Law and Order where you get 22 1-hour shows (45 minutes or whatever) for $20 when Amazon had them on sale.
Update: I missed the email I got on Friday... but it showed up today fron Onsale.com.
For anyone interested in Linux Xen this is a big deal. Most only interested in "gaming speed" won't give a crap.
I got mine today from Amazon... I live in an RV and was "on the fence" because this one doesn't include a 12volt adapter... but I'm happy to report that it works perfectly fine on a inexpensive square-wave inverter (I have a Xantrex 700watt that I got for about $40).
People just love the Japan ones, that's all. I think it is a hot deal at the price, they are decent discs. Just purchased some in Las Vegas and they are Taiwan too.
why would they change the visuals, besides the FPS for equal visuals? Unless the video drivers are not the same 32bit to 64bit (different features, different versions)... it would seem logical to expect the same visuals.
Put another way... it would seem to be a "bug" that you got different...
ok, I updated the original posting on this thread to reflect much more detailed picture that is coming out.
the 945, 955, and 975 chipsets will work... if you can get a BIOS update out of the vendor. The 975 is only required for the Extreme Edition cpu...
Edit: I didn't realize this thread took off here, I got some info over on Tom's Hardware forum and forgot to check back here.
The Intel Pentium D 900 series is rumored to be shipping on December 27.
Supported motherboards: Intel 945, 955X, 975X (new) chipsets. BIOS updates ARE REQUIRED...
