XP & Norton Live Update

I had the same problem. Go here and get the lusetup.exe file. Uninstall your current LiveUpdate from the control panel and run the lusetup. It'll install a new LiveUpdate and you'll be good as new. Cluzo

No reactivation problems after hardware change.

I just changed out an Abit SA6 and P3 for an Epox 8KHA and T-bird 1200 and did a clean reinstall of XP RC1. The activation sailed right thru. No problem or glitch at all. No need to phone MS. Nothing. Just full activation. Now I did get a major STOP BSOD on initial reboot from the mobo install...

You have to sign up for the WindowsXP preview Program here. You'll have to pay $10 for the download. You'll be notified by email about the link, login, password, activation key, and such. You could of course snag it from warez if you like. I prefer the real McCoy. Hope this helps. Cluzo

I'll just wait and get it from MS. Besides, I don't care for porn popups nor having it dribbled out at 3k from someone's crowded ftp. BTW, it's an almost 500mb ISO download. Another update from the XP beta NG: Per TECHTV Problem = Email Issue: MS states that it will be available today...

Get a 400 watt P/S just to be sure. Make sure it's AMD approved tho.

Go for it. Seems as tho MSI has the new mods down pat. I would hate to be the one to eat all those defective new boards tho. I've taken many black eyes being the first on the block. My first mod was a new keyboard for my Atari 400 and I kept that thru the first IBM PC. Those who blaze the trail...

Shuttle AK31 Rev 2...

I let the Mwave rep know that if the replacement wasn't a Rev. 2 they'd be getting it back. She said that was OK, but I wouldn't get my shipping refunded. I'll take that hit to get what I want. It wouldn't be the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. Cluzo

AK31 from Mwave Update

I received my AK31 yesterday, and it's Rev. 1.34. It was also DOA. I've RMA'd the board, but could get no guarantees from Mwave that I'd get a Rev 2 as my replacement. The rep was helpful and friendly but couldn't promise me a Rev 2. When I get the replacement(next week) I'll post my findings...

Duron Pencil Trick: results in being able to raise, but not lower clock speed????

There is a bug in the K7T Turbo BIOS. Get the beta overclocker's BIOS ffom MSI's Taiwan site (when it comes back up).

best kt266 board comparable to the 8k7a

Link Link Here are 2 articles on the Shuttle AK31 KT266 chipset mainboard. One of the articles says their review sample has the new revision chipset. I've got an AK31 on the way. When I get it installed and running (Friday) I'll post results.

P3V4X , Poor memory performance, advice?

What are your scores? I have an almost identical setup, except my board is a Soyo 7VCA. My mem scores average 340-388 CPU and 410-440 FPU, depending on Sandra's time of the month. Search the forums for reference to "wpcredit". That's a program by H.Oda that might help you out. Also...
