I'll have to test leaving TF2 at its menu after I get home tonight.
Never deal with Sapphire's RMA process, and according to http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/support/?cid=3&psn=000203 I'll need to bring it back to where I bought it in the first place. Not sure if I can still find the...
Symptom:
The system stays stable for hours in TF2, but within minutes of getting back on the desktop, it will hard reboots.
What I've tested so far, without success:
- Disconnected the two mechanical drives
- Left out 1 of the RAM sticks at a time
- Swapped out PSU for an older unit
-...
I'm in the same boat. Got a bunch of parts on the way but still need to decide on an mATX mobo.
Looking at Newegg there are 4 choices right now. The $125 Asrock board is the only one that doesn't have dual x8 capability (which I want), but it does seem a lot more feature-rich than the Gigabyte...
Greetings.
I'm looking for a power supply for the following build:
C2D E8400 E0
Gigabyte EP45-DS3R
4870 1GB
2x2GB
2xWD6400AAKS
1 optical drive
I'm shooting for max overclock I can get out of a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 - gussing somewhere around 450-500 FSB at 9x multiplier. Not looking...
Personally I think a TV is better value. However, there are more uncertainties with a TV, so make sure that if you go that route, you do some research at places like AVSforum and get the TV from a place that you can easily return it to.
This is - I think - the first blue PCB 4870 1GB out there.
Damn. I just received the MSI one from newegg yesterday. Wish I had waited, as it'd match the EP45-DS3R perfectly. Oh well, at least I get to fill out the $30 rebate.
Recently I bought a Vizio SV42XVT (42" 1080p 120Hz) but returned it for a VO32LF (32" 1080p 60Hz) after about a month.
With the 42" I first tried using it on the desk, sitting 3-4 ft away. For games it's *awesome*, but texts are way too blocky, and you can easily spot the subpixel rendering...
I guess it's basically the same thing as AMD slapping "XP" on Athlon 6 or so years ago - "hey this sounds familiar and kinda cool."
Anyway, yes the 4870 is cheaper, but it also only has 512MB of RAM versus the GTX' 896MB. I've been waiting for the 1GB 4870s to show up (I don't want to deal...
Has anyone done that? Something along the lines of running a tri-SLI mobo and three 8800GT's, each driving its own 20" UXGA monitor.
Will the video driver allow a horizontal span configuration for a 4800x1200 desktop?
How much of a pain is it to get games running at this config? I suppose...
That *is* pretty darned sad. Oh well, guess I'll be better off just keeping it and playing around with it. Maybe put Ubuntu on it or something =D
Thanks, you two.

Excellent price for a decent P/S - only Wed and Thu.
Edited to clarify title and to add the rebate link - thanks, esquared.

Not sure about WoW, but CoH/CoV doesn't run too well on ATI cards, apparently because ATI only optimizes its OpenGL driver for Doom3/Quake4. Check the official board.
I fail to see how this is an apple-specific problem. The only notebooks I see that have the two-row enter key are japanese imports. See for example this page: http://www.dynamism.com/tx92/gallery.shtml
Disclaimer - I have only owned one apple product ever and its the in-ear earbuds...
The problem here is that it uses the G965 chipset. I heard there's an issue with the integrated graphics unit and it is holding off product shipments. So it will be a lil while, until they sort out the issues with a new revision of the chipset.
Have they figured out how to deal with the limited number of write-cycles on those flash memory chips?
I suppose it'll be awhile until we see the page file stored on flash =P
The same thing could be said about the 14.1" W3J.
Obviously people are still buying 15.4" laptops despite of the fact that the currently best graphics option for the 15.4" class, the X1600, is available on a 14.1" model.
Besides, the 17" class of notebooks still has the GTX.
Any idea if there's a 7900GS-equiped 15.4" laptop coming? I heard that the 7900GS consumes "only" 20W compared to the X1600's 16W. I mean if ASUS can get the X1600 into a 14.1" model (I'm speaking of the W3J of course) why can't anyone put the GS into a 15.4" model?
Last night, for the first time in maybe a couple months, I fired off CS just to give it a spin. Everything was ok until I encountered a situation where I wanted to just hold down the left mouse button of my G5 and spray - it would not. Only a single shot fired. It is as if they changed all guns...
This looks pretty nice, and the reviews are fairly assuring. However, I have one more question:
What makes a dedicated scanner like the Fujitsu suggested "better" than, say, a HP OfficeJet 7210,
which seems to boast equal if not better scanning specs?
I'm looking to scan a huge amount of one-sided B/W docs and am looking for a scanner that can do it reasonably fast, without breaking the bank.
I'm not exactly sure what price point I'm looking at, so recommendations for different pricing categories, along with a short explanation of what I...
Those pics look very nice.
Can you please comment on the portability of the display, taking into account of both the weight and shape? How easy would it be to just take it out and throw it on the back seat of your car?
Also, are you satisfied by the comparatively low resolution, or...
Is there any 27"-32" display capable of displaying 1080p (native preferred) currently on the market or at least coming soon?
I've seen the 37" Westinghouse unit in person and it is just a bit too big for my likes.
There're also Apple's and Dell's 30" 2560x1600 LCDs, but they'd of course...
Yeah, I went to check it out at BB and it is quite a beast. Even though it is about the weight of a 21" CRT it looks like it will be a total PITA to carry this thing without help.
Thinking about getting the 27" model instead...
I have seen the specs, but it is kinda hard to judge portability just from numbers.
I am mainly interested in how the flat shape of the unit affect portability. How hard would it be to carry this thing to, say, my car, without scratching the screen?
