A very interesting thread. Though I have Win8 64bit, I want to thank you for your diligence and hard work on this. I imagine there are many-many others out there who would benefit. Towermax, could you please post the results of implementing his script? jimb

Possible to manually re-arrange files in folders?

Windows8 not "seeing" ext usb drives: My Fix

Wanted to share this if anyone has had a problem with Windows 8 recognizing usb drives that are plugged in to usb hubs: I have 2 external hubs plugged into my desktop. 1- Taurus 9 key pad that has 2 usb ports 2- Gigaware 4 port powered usb hub 26-160. A direct copy/paste from my notes...

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I did as you instructed and in my drop down for desktop folder zGames organize\layout there are 4 items: Menu bar, Detail pane, Preview pane Navigation pane. It was the Navigation Pane that was the culprit. Thank you very much for helping me out with this. jimb
