Windows 7 Media center internet tv keeps crashing

I think it may have been an optional update, but I can't quite pinpoint which one. The media center works fine, except when I click internet tv where it just crashes. I tried reinstalling internet tv and silverlight for media center but hasn't helped. Has anyone else encountered this?

Applications have started crashing

thanks for the feedback guys, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I played with voltages fora while, but it just wouldn't stay stable. I ended up just buying new ram. which seems to have done the trick so far.

Can laptops power modern lcds?

I was thinking of getting an 500-700 dollar HP notebook, but I remember my old laptop had a really bad vga out. I've noticed the newer laptops have an intel 4500M integrated video, anyone know if these will be able to output to 1080p?

Win7 + ATI + 1080p monitor = :(

Are you sure you didn't have things on a higher dpi on windows xp. The other thing you could try is to adjust cleartype in windows 7. It's under apperances and personalization-->fonts

Installed a new card

Want to buy an ATI card, but having doubts

not sure where you got 50% faster....it's usually about 10% faster from the benchmarks, which justifies the 20 dollar difference...except it's really more of a 30 dollar difference. Meh...kind of a wash between which one you get to me. If a game runs very badly one the 5750, the 5770 won't...

In vista you could go to classic mode under "window color and appearance" --> Open classic ... I like this because I like to use 125 dpi while making the fonts of titles smaller. I can't seem to find the option in 7 though, can anyone point me there?

Is my video card dying?

If a chain is linked to the load, the force pulling the chain is doing the work. His analogy, the magnet is doing the pulling. So the force exerted by the magnet is greater than gravity, therefore the object is pulled up. That is work being done. As to how a magnet exerts this force...

I did that, but it didn't affect anything. I tried installing the HAWX demo, and it runs the DX9.0 version once, and afterwards it no longer runs again. It's really weird and annoying.

Your Take on PhysX

It's so early right now, it's really not worth it from a gameplay point of view. However, this being a tech forum, people will want physx for the new techiness of it. From a gaming perspective, it will most likely not be a big deal until a generation away from now when the next consoles are...

ATi still having driver issues?

I've been on a 3850 for a while, and I've been fine. From reading some of the forums, most of the issues are if you use crossfire or X2 cards. Dual-card implementations seem to have trouble in general though, not specific to ATI.

Vista Playing Videos Issues

It could be the video driver, the 6200se is really old, and in practice might not work well with recent drivers. See if you can get a copy of forceware drivers from the 80s or 90s and see how that works.

On recommendations and the dolby theater feature, I bought the UD3p board. I am running it with a E4500(200x11) and 3gbs (2x1gb,2x512gb). I know it's not ideal, but I don't feel like buying new ram just yet. I just wanted to play with the overclocking a bit, but I've never done it before so...

Yet another recommendation request

I noticed the ud3p supports dolby digital live while the ud3r does not from the gigabyte website, how much of a difference does it make in games? I've got a 3rd party sound card for DD/DTS in movies but was curious about gaming.

Well, the curb was really low, no more than 2 inches above the ground with no fence. I recall nicking it, but I'm biased. Still I'm thinking even if i drove over it, it shouldn't have been that bad.
