Buying a sound card

My first goal is to get a sound card that will give me the "best gaming performance, best driver support and best stability/compatibility". The speakers aren't my priority right now, so let's not go off topic. Let's assume I'll get good speakers eventually.

GTX 295 or two ATI 4890's? or wait?

Wait. and SLI or crossfire is just a waste of money, unless you have a 30 inches monitor. I prefer to buy 1 video card and upgrade 3 years later, plus with physx you don't have to get 2 identical video card... so buy a powerful card now for 275$ and buy a more powerful one in 2 years for...

I have 5 speakers + sub. I guess they are analog because it's an old altec lansing sound system. But I may change it eventually for something like that : Logitech X-540

Windows 7 v. Vista 64X

I read that windows 7 64 bits, will be retro compatible with the 32 bits, does this mean every bug caused by 64bits will be resolved in windows 7 64 bits ? If yes, that's good news for gaming and everything else !

No one recommended Far Cry 2 yet !? Very nice graphics and a good shooter with nice explosion effects. If you're a sci-fi fan you should give Eve Online a try.

Here's the review Samsung 2233rz Apparently it's very fast for games, however no matter how hard you'll try to set the colors, they will never look good. Also the price of this 22 inches 16:9 monitor is a rip-off. If you're looking for a 16:9 maybe look at the BENQ models. BENQ 16:9 Monitor

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, but has succesfully recovered
