Here's my current setup
Asus P5N-E SLI
E6400 @ 3.2 400x8 - Arctic Freezer Pro 7
2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 PC2 6400C5 5-4-4-12 2T
Corsair 520W PSU
Geforce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit
Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP
I plan to upgrade my processor to E8500 and get the UltraSharp 2709W
I wondered what...
Is anyone using both pci slots? I have a tv tuner and looking to add a good soundcard soon. Just wondered if their was plenty of space for both on this board. I've never used a non-integrated soundcard, but feel it's time to upgrade my sound quality:) I have a single pcie video card and...
The P180 is awesome huh? You should be plenty fine with 4 fans and the Zalman. I haven't altered the SB or NB yet but probably will in the future based off suggestions on page 92. My setup has been great for a month now.
Did you remove the other drivers before installing new ones? I had no problem at all installing the new drivers and they work great. Didn't have to install anything manually. I ignored the windows hardware wizard when it popped up. Sorry it gave you a hard time.
Sweet, thanks for the clarification.
Yeah I got mine stable at 3.2 but I wanted to get a different heatsink for the NB and one for the SB before pushing. I think another fan in the front would help with airflow too. Currently my room is like in the 80s so that doesn't help... I think I...
From what I've read the arctic freezer 7 pro fan should be facing the ram slots and pulling air through the heatsink and towards the back outtakes on the case. Right now that is how I have it setup with the bottom fin pulled up slightly to clear the default northbridge heatsink. Been working...
Yeah, Xdreamer. Move the Vcore up one. I had my computer totally stable and rebooting fine, but after having it off overnight was a different story and was stuck at the Windows load screen. Pushing the vcore up one solved my cold boot problem.
Nice pics, Nevets Drassel. It's good to see the HR-05 fits nicely next to the arctic freezer. I'm going to have to get one for my north bridge with something low profile for the south.
One of my plastic push pins on the arctic freezer 7 broke off. It still seems very secure/tight over the cpu but I was wondering if I should replace the cpu cooler? Is there away to get a replacement plastic piece? i don't really want to buy another cooler just because of the piece.
Also...
my default auto timings were 5-5-5-12 2T
I mostly meant how to find out what the auto settings were for the initial voltages without going through trial and error adjustments. Though maybe Auto is set at higher across the board than needed..
It's easy. I found this vista site I liked the most and helped me get all setup with Vista and dual boot. Also has a program to edit the new boot scheme or tells how to adjust it manually. Worth checking out.

Yeah keep us updated. Also test from a cold boot. I was able to reboot fine at a certain Vcore setting but once I turned off the computer and restarted the next day the Vcore needed one more level up to get the machine up and running.
oh I just saw you are running vista. I'm still on XP pro so I wonder how much differnce the vcore will need to be if any. I may put vista beta 2 back on my machine to test or I'll wait till my Vista Business copy comes in the mail.
Glad you got some stability. I have the same cpu and motherboard and thought I'd share my settings as I'm trying to push to the next level as well.
I'm stable at oc to 3 ghz with orthos stability test over 12 hours. I have vcore at 1.33125V, ram at 2.013V and NB core at 1.393V.
For the...
Sorry not trying to hijack but saw a similar setup and was looking for a quick suggestion.
knifemyglitter, what are your voltage settings? I have a similar settup with the e6400 and asus p5n-e sli. Also arctic freezer 7 and antec p180 so decent air cooling. I just raised my stable 3ghz to...
