the BIOS upgrade was a no go for helping my RAM situation ( I used the CD option for upgrading my BIOS). should it read "Phoenix- Award Bios V 28" ?

AVI file to DVD. . .How To??

Try getting ConvertX To DVD, its a great pogram I use it for all my movie burning. You can customize just about everything and it work in DVD players. I've been able to get like 3 or 4 episodes of Band of brothers per disk and they work just peachy.

I agree, but also remember to check that you ram and videocard is seated properly. i think it might be better if you use the onboard video port instead of a videocard. try reseating the ram just to be sure, check the locks
