Gigabyte's website mentions you need F7 BIOS for E4300, but I'm wondering if you can at least post with an F6 or earlier version of the BIOS, seeing how many of us do not have extra socket 775 cpu's laying around.
I'm expecting the Gigabyte s3 and e4300 from Newegg any day now, and I'm wondering how I can update the bios to a e4300 compatible version without an older chip laying around?
I'm curious, for those that can do it, are there any advantages to running the fsb at 400 and the multiplier at 8? Instead of the fsb at 355 and the multiplier at 9?
Recently my 9800 pro's fan stopped working. I could literally smell what I imagine was the thermal paste burning as my computer crashed (guessed I should have went easy on the overclocking). I'm building a new pc now, but I would like to salvage the 9800 pro if possible, so my question is...

I am looking to spend about $600 on a new cpu, mobo, ram, and GPU.
The only thing I know for certain is that I want to go with a dual core e4300, and would like to overclock it as much as the stock HSF will allow, which I gather is around 3.0ghz (FSB333x9). Because of the high multiplier and...
