humanure did you get a chance to test with an E6600? I guess that might get you higher for the same voltage you use now. LiQiCE too bad for you. I've got a L29, but my P5WDH & P5B before that, are awful in the droop. I notice from screen shots, this board is ~0.04 droop on load. Has that...

To my knowledge, the TR is an older version & the T1 is a newer release. Read some place (cant recollect) that it fixed Quad core FSB related issue & few others.

MB for OC

I wish to buy a MB to OC with a E6600 & quad processor in the future. Expecting to reach on other side of 3.4GHz. Options that come to my mind are Abit Quad GT, Gigabyte 965P-DQ6(3.3Rev)/965P-DS3, EVGA 680I (NF68-A1), Intel BX2. Hoping MB does not cost me a hand and a leg to buy for features...

Something interesting I noticed about the new batches of C2Ds

I've been using the 'F' model & tested using Orthos. I've never had random reboots while running this program. Touch wood. They just failed. Reboots happened while gaming. Setting PCIE freq, increasing FSB termination voltage helped in my case.

Biostar TForce 965PT, where did all of them go???

You are looking at 965P-DS3 rev3.3, which is a good option too. It OC well & also gives you those bells & whistles just in case you ever need it.

Good grief - what did I do...

I guess option 1 as Ron suggested should work. I run into the slow boot & hang, when I overclock incorrectly with my P5WDH. I switch off completely (take the wire out of the wall socket) & then I boot after reconnecting power. That brings me to a prompt, where it gives me a couple of options...

My request is for a feasibility analysis of making an HTPC using the mATX MB and an approximate cost analysis for doing the same. I don't want spend a fortune creating an HTPC (anyway post April - AMD & Intel price cuts).

Need expert advice from Conroe OCers

SB, both OC very well. Question to ask urself is how much do I want to OC? IMO, with 6600 you can reach further. My case, I have an average cooler & dont want to go into mid50 temps or add voltages without a better cooler like Tuniq/SInfinity5. So stopped at 3496Mhz. Looks like you need it...

The Super Pi Mod Score Database

14.797s on E6600-3429MHz(381x9), Asus P5WDH. That is for now. Dual Prime95 stable. I wish I could go higher. Temps and Orthos failures are problems.

I can't answer knowledgeably about temp rise based on FSB change. But, I hope the voltages were same both times and same activity type/level were happening. The second question is easy buy yourself a decent air cooling fan or water cooling. The choice is again there between cost and how much OC...

e6700 temps

The AC7 Freezer Pro I am using (that replaced the Intel stock fan) came with the paste on the heat sink (you can see it thru' the plastic) and it is a good thermal paste. I cleaned the paste left over on my CPU heat sink by the stock Intel fan gently using q-tips and isopropyl rubbing alcohol.

Your motherboard needs a ATX 12V connection. The PSU is trying to cater to both 4-pin and 8-pin motherboards. So, you can either put in one of the 4-pin connectors or the 8-pin connector.

The AC7 has MX-1 paste, which is good paste IMO and you should not need the AS5. I cleaned the grease from the stock heat sink. The fan has also worked well for me :-)

Wood, you're right. I put on an AC Freezer 7 and temps dropped amazingly. above 90% load & at 37C. :) Took a while to figure out, but the freeze disappeared once I set the PCI-E to 100 & PCI to 33. In fact now, I am down to 1.3VCore & rocking 24/7 at 3.33GHz. :D I will save this profile for...

Are you clocking by BIOS or any tools. Also, do you have the thermal control setting turned on for safety reasons? I have the reverse of your case(see my post). The drop is a problem for me cause my comp freezes after a long run or Orthos fails after 15mins of blend test. Maybe I should set...
