Thanks, ron2368! I'll replace the motherboard and see what happens. I don't want to believe that the famed Silencer 750 Quad/SS-750JS would fail so early and on such a dinky computer, heh. Too bad the only 775 motherboards left are G41/G43/G45's. No el-cheapo X48 for me!

Am I the only one who like the old standard (4:3)?

GeForce 6200 256MB vs. Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB

I have crippled versions of both of these cards - a Radeon 9600 Pro EZ (slower memory) and a GeForce 6200 with 64-bit memory. The 9600 was better. I don't know if this is a good measure of "raw power," but in Quake III Arena tests on the same machine, the 9600 pushed out slightly more frames...

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Steam $9.99

OC'ing 7900 GS

You're okay temperature-wise; I had an eVGA 7900GT KO that ran at ~75 degrees under load with the factory overclocks and had no problems. I'd be worried if you were getting temperatures above 80 degrees. Temperature is not the only thing that can affect a card's lifespan/stability, though.

Gears of War PC Performance and IQ Tested

In my opinion, Unreal Engine 3 games at maximum look better than Crysis at medium and they give me much better performance, too. On the other hand, Crysis at high looks incredible. I have an X1900 XT 512MB and I'd rather play Crysis at 1024x768, high settings than at 1280x960, medium settings...
