3dMark06 with my 3870

Where do I add this at? Is this while installing the program, or once I have the program booted up? 3Dmark freezes when I try to load it, is what my current problem is. I saw a post where someone had the same problem as I, but no one seemed to help him out. This post was prior to me getting...

Thanks for the link, but i actually have the program installed. I ran it prior to switching my card out, so I could compare the difference. So its clearly something with my 3870 causing it to freeze.

3dMark06 with my 3870

I just received my 3870 and was hoping to get it benched, but its not running. It loaded or attempts to, but then will lock up in the loading process. I have read where you might need to change a file name, but can't find anything for sure. Can anyone help me out?

ATI Tool not picking up my 8800GT?

Well ATI tool isn't picking up my 3870 so don't feel bad. I can't even get 3dMark06 to work with my card. It constantly locks up the program when I try to boot it.

ATI 7.11 Catalyst Drivers Released

I wish i could say the same. Newegg hosed up my shipping address, so it iwll be monday before I get mine. At least they refunded my shipping cost.

To OP, for someone that was sure glad to see ati "fail", a few days, its interesting to see you even consider the new ATI card now. Personally, if you have one on pre-order stick with it. I had a 3870 with NCIX and canceled it to get it from new egg. My card order processed, but i just move...

New egg will not let you add this card to your cart. I am guessing they are sold out or do not have the card yet, even though their site indicates they do

Yes i knew this prior to ordering. What are all the other software packages with this card? I have been meaning to get around to getting HL2: EP2 and TF2. NCIX is bundled with blackbox and CoJ. For 240 bucks, this is a killer deal. Does any other sites offer any good bundles?

I just Purchased my 3870 from NCIX, I can't wait to get my hands on it. 255 with shipping 240/wo. This is a very good deal. No i need to get some artic silver to put on that GPU once it comes in.

requiem1 Your making determinations off of pre-release info. I am waiting until I see what this new driver does before I decide how much ati "sucks". I am a bit skeptical of anyone's review that breaks the NDA agreement to give out early specs.

possible motherboard issues

I have never heard of this happening before, to anyone I know. Its just an idea though. My old sata cables where over 3 years old though. I played the new call of duty game well into the night and didn't have any lock ups, but i had a lock up/unable to detect hard drive happen last night...

I know this sounds weird, but i changed out all of my sata cables last night, and i have not had a single problem since. I am going to give it some more time before I completely rule that this was the problem, but so far it seems that way

I will get you the info once i get off work. The only thing i can tell you is i am using an AMD 4400+X2. Other than that i know i have DDR 2700 ram, and 2gb of it. Also I think my board is an A8N - SLI but i am not 100 percent. I will check once i get home.

Recently i have been having a problem with my PC and i am having a hard time nailing the sorce down. My PC will randomly (or appear to be random) and lock up. I will be forced to restart my computer, only to discover it doesn't detect my hard drives. I first thought this was a hard drive issue...

No i haven't. I understand that every one has bad items, it srather annoying that asus replaced my board, which was over 2 years old, with no problem, yet i ati won't bother fixing this card which i got last march. The thing is now that i am looking at cards, idk if i could spend the money on...
