Sun Solaris 9

We have a server that is running Sun Solaris 9 (I think) and was wondering how do I change the screen resolution? Need to change it to 1024x768 because the monitor on the Rack KVM only supports that resolution. Thanks.

Long Overdue Computer Upgrade - EDITED

The reasoning behind the RAID 5 is to store alot of pictures (both JPEG and RAW) along with video files. What RAID controller would you suggest? Something that will NOT break the bank. I know on-board raid isn't the greatest but a RAID 5 controller with onboard memory can be pretty pricey...

MSI P35 Platinum & Zalman CNPS9500

I am looking to get the MSI P35 Platinum motherboard and the Zalman CNPS9500 cooler, I was wondering if there are any issues using the Zalman cooler. I know the MSI board has a funky loop heatpipe cooling solution but not sure if the height/shape interferes with an aftermarket cpu cooler.

Q6600 - Overclocking that easy?

I have read somewhere that you can easily overclock a Q6600 on a P35 board simply by raising the FSB from 1066 to 1333 (making it 3.0GHz versus 2.4GHz) without changing anything else, is it really that easy?

not sure on your computer needs but if you build a new system, with a new motherboard you can make your old system a file/media server. just a thought. i still have an amd xp 2500+ and amd64 3400+ (socket 754) system around. you can always find a use for an old computer. people use pIII for file...
