I currently am just running on air with the stock intel cooler but i do have 3x 120mm fans custome mounted at top of case sucking air out and i have 3x 80mm fans at bottom blowing air in to case. so have very nice air flow thru the case and for temps at cpu speed below i get 38C idle and 47C...
to get rid of the multiplier switching to 6x as i was having the same problem. In the bios i had to do the following:
under cpu configuration area
disable the Enhanced C1 (CE1) option
this solved my problem with the multi switching to 6x from 8x not sure why some can run it and some...
think i have the problem sorted durring the rebuild i accedently plugged in the wrong power cable to the giga switch it was getting lower voltage than it needed seems much better now transfered about 20 gigs of data from 1 pc to another with no problems now.

ahh there is new drivers out that where released today i was running the ones prior to this 8.26 now i see they released the 8.43 drivers will try to update to them once and i am currently not running anything for firewall at this time trying to sort this out for now but i have a linksys...
I have also had problems with the gigabit nic on the board it will ocasianaly just disconnect and then reconect for no reason and also while transfering files from pc to pc thru giga at times it will lose the connection also.

Okay started overclocking pc tonight but have a few questions.

Yeah i am aware that viewsonic monitor does not support hdcp but not worried about that as i will probably not start to run visit for at least 1 year maybe 2 and if i really want to watch a hd movie i will just use my 57" dlp with my hd-dvd player.
