Battlefield 2142 1.4 patch issue (cannot find install file)

Did you have to update to 1.25 before 1.4? I recently had to reinstall Battlefield 2142 just to apply the 1.4 patch since I hadn't played for 9 months and lost my registry entries after installing a new OS. IIRC, I patched directly to 1.4. You can try uninstalling, deleting the registry...

Installation of P4 1.6AGHz on ASUS P4S333 gone horribly wrong :|

Was the BSOD complaining about the IDE controllers? I ran the Windows XP installation program from DOS and chose the "repair" option to get Windows XP started after I switched to a P4-1.6A and new motherboard (I got the BSODs mentioned above), rather than reinstalling everything.

Solution to USB mouse and P4B266 boards..

Better Overclocking 512mb ddr ram ?? Mushkin , Crucial or Corsair ?

How can you tell when the limit you hit from overclocking is due to the CPU or RAM? I have a 1.6A overclocked completely stable with a 155 MHz bus and 1:1 bus to memory ratio on an ASUS P4B266. At 155, I can set the BIOS RAM settings to the fastest (2-2-2-6 or whatever, Turbo 2) and be fine...

Asus P4B266 Overclocking help!!!

The BIOS revision that came on my P4B266 was 1005, and I know it doesn't have some of the divider options that other people have. For example, some people have an option for a 1:1 or 3:4 FSB/Memory ratio, but all I have is 1:1. I haven't see the PCI divider anywhere in the BIOS either.

I just got my 1.6A and Asus P4B266 from MWave.com, and so far, it looks ok at 2479 @ 1.6v, and 2512 @ 1.7v. This is with the retail heatsink/fan, which looks quite massive to me.

The unofficial Det 27.10 peformance/stability general thoughts thread

I got about a 500 point decrease in 3D Mark 2001 (from ~5600 to ~5100) when upgrading to the 27.10 drivers. I verified this by switching back to older drivers (23.11 and 21.83) then upgrading again. I'll keep my 500 points with older drivers for now. :P

connecting santa cruz digital output to a receiver...

Basically, the Santa Cruz FAQ on the Turtle Beach FTP site says to use a minijack to 2 RCA adapter/wire, and connect the red RCA as the digital out. If you want to just try it, any RCA cable (using a single side) will probably work ok to transfer the digital signal from the minijack-to-RCA...
