X25-M(V) erase block size?

aligning partition on 512kB is good thing to do (I've done that already), but I have a chance to align filesystem writes, too. aligning filesystem writes to block size higher then needed leaves filesystem with much less options during writes. btw, about aligning filesystem writes - I'm using linux.

Thx. I guess there's no way to make smaller page size then the one on MLC chip itself. I just cant understand why should one (Intel) hide some information like this. I've tried to contact Intel's support explaining I need that info to correctly align writes thus lowering wearing and prolonging...

On the Internet I've found two different oppinions about erase block size of Intel's X25-M (and X25-V) SSDs: 128kB and 512kB 128kB: http://techreport.com/articles.x/15433 Intel gives an example in which a host system generates a 4KB write request that, thanks to a drive's 128KB erase...

Kingston SNM drives should be exactly the same as Intel drives. that's why they should be able use the same firmware. Kingston's 40GB drive is not SNM - it's SNV, so things could be different...

well, I'll go to the shop and look for those ghosting problems you people described here in this topic. I hope it will end in buying one of 226WTQ. :) p.s. should I look for CMO or LPL panel or it doesn't metter which one is in it as long as there's no ghosting?

very usefull topic! I'm planing to get one 226WTQ. in my local stores are displays with Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) Panel and firmware FW v1.80 is it good or not? should I look for LPL panel? should I look for 1.14 firmware or everything higher then 1.14 will be ok (like 1.80)...

gigabyte made serveral revisions of its' P35 boards. right now, GA-P35-DS4 exists as revision 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. the only difference between 1.0 and 1.1 I've managed to find is a lot smaller heat-pipe. both north-bridge part and near-exhaust-fan part are smaller. :( difference between...

ICH reading +90C on Intel DP35DP

I had tested AMD Athlon64 (Winchester core) and found out how PowerNow controls Vcore. I've been manualy overriding Frequency/Voltage pairs on it to undervolt it in both 1.8 and 1.0GHz states. Is it the same with Intel SpeedStep? If it's the same, this scenario would be right: CPU...

AFAIK - P35 dissipates 20W more then 965P at idle, and 10W more at full-load - besides that, it has worse memory bandwidth - you're right about peryn support

I have my internet connection balanced over two adsl links. tcp connection persistance is done by route caching, so the same destination IP will get the same gateway everytime. that's why tcp connections work at all. but, I have problem loading everything on anandtech.com. loading takes...
