Ok try http://vistawired.com
they have the poop on there also if you search "vista fresh install from ugrade disk" it should come upl....good luck...let me know how you do.
Ok, here is the deal. If you search the forums you will find the info on how to fresh install the upgrade without haveing WinXP on your system. I am not sure what forum it is, but do a google search and you should find it. It may be Kez.Com...not sure, but I have several versions of Vista...
I have had Vista Ultimate running on my P5N-E for several months now with no problems. I do not have a dual boot system, although. It may have something to do with the dual boot config. I am runing the 0401 bios with no problem. If you can, try another HD without the WinXP on it...it may...
I have been watching this forum for several weeks now and would like to add yet another point of view.
As we are all aware every system is different...what works with one may/may not work with another. I have three nVidia systems up and running . My first system is a P5N-E SLI. I also have...

I have been running the HR-05-SLI with the Tuniq Tower 120 on my rig for several months now. I have the system OCd to 3.2MHZ and have had no problems. My OS is Vista and it just humms along...I use it mostly for audio/video stuff and am enjoying the sytem. It was a bit tricky to...
I just put the Tower 120 onto my P5N-E SLI and the thing really cools. I had to position it with the fan blowing up toward the exhaust fan. I also added an HR-05 SLI NB cooler. They both fit and it really keeps this thing cool. I think the Tuniq Tower is a good buy and a great cooler.
CPU Voltage Boost...
This is something interesting that I came across in my internet travels...
http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=87329
Anyone had any experience with the voltage boost...I saw somewhere earlier, I believe in this forum, that someone got the E6400 up to...
Yeah...I really like the P180. I am about ready to put the rig into the case but also have not yet added any SB/NB coolers. I live in Hawaii and have to have eveything shipped in...so that also takes time. I am happy so far and do not anticipate any problems.
Yeah...I think you are right...it is just sitting on the processor (with some arctic silver 5). I have run it up to 3.4GHZ and then shut it down after about 20 min. in ORTHO...the temps were rising...will put it in the case with fans and lock down the cooler and the system should run A-OK. Thanks
I got up to 3.2 GHZ stable, with only a zalman cooler sitting on the cpu, but ORTHO would shut down at 3.4GHZ, So I will be looking to button it up and put in in the case with 4 fans...maybe it will hit 3.4 or 3.6GHZ. My temps are running high (60C) so I think it is a thermal shutdown. Thanks...
At present I have no fans blowing on the board other than the air movement of the Zalman. I have an Antec P180 case and will have 4 internal fans in the case, which should provide all the cooling I need. One of the fans will blow directly on the video boards. I am not an extreme OCer so air...
Thanks Core2...
I just started ORTHO and it is stable at 2600MHZ, so it did throttle up...good learning point for me!
Also I have observed the following temps during ORTHO test:
temp1:50c
temp2:42c
temp3:25c
HD0:39c
temp1:40c
core0:68c
core1:67c
I have the board out of the case...

Thanks I will check the setting...I am not sure what I set it at, but will check. Do you have any additional coolers running on your system?
Good Morning All...
I have been watching this thread for quite awhile and am now breadboarding my new ASUS P5N-E SLI. I have it on a piece of cardboard and it has been running ORTHO (no OC) for about a week with no problems. The following is what I now have in the system:
Bios: 0401
