I have an E6600 and am running BIOS version 1901. Is there any point in my upgrading? Things admittedly work fine at the moment, but if there's some new functionality in newer updates I'd be interested to know. Thanks in advance!

I have a Tuniq on my board, and it installs fine. It's not dead simple to install, but no components get in the way or anything. I installed it with the motherboard out of the case, and then put the motherboard back in gently. Made getting to the screws much easier. When you have it...

I have the same problem... It takes a while to identify all my USB devices. There are ways to slow it down, but I haven't bothered with it (takes up to 15s for me). Update the ethernet driver if you haven't already. I've heard that the default ones with Vista (maybe other OSs too) lock up...

I'm not too sure how well your core can handle an FSB overclock up to 400Mhz. From what I've read, the 4 core processors generate a lot more heat than the dual core ones as you overclock them (as you'd expect). If you want to run your memory in a 1:1 ratio with your FSB, I'd expect you to...

That's really strange... Maybe the settings in my BIOS are somehow wrong. I mean, it can't be a driver issue if everything works when I'm not overclocked... Unless the driver is a very low level one (one that knows when things are overvolted) perhaps. If I make any progress, I'll post it to...

Thanks for checking Phil... Are you running at stock volts to get to 3Ghz? When I don't overclock my system (i.e. stock everything), it Sleeps fine... I have, however, changed my stock voltage.

I'm not too sure either, but I remember reading somewhere that some motherboards always perform cold reboots when a core is undervolted... I don't understand why. I guess when a processor is put to sleep (ACPI S3 state) the voltage to the CPU is reduced and when coming out of it something goes...

I thought the same thing, but after persevering a little more, began to like Vista a lot! To disable the UAC which is bugging you, do this: 1. Hit the start key 2. Type 'user' (just type, the text will automatically go in the right place) 3. Chose 'user accounts' in the filtered search...

Are you using Vista? Have you been able to Sleep/Resume successfully with an overclocked system? If you have, then it rules out overclocking, and I can keep looking for a solution. Thanks! Sid

Make sure that you run the program as an Administrator: right click the icon/shortcut, chose 'run as administrator'. Unless you run as an Admin, you won't be able to install the driver that CoreTemp uses. Apologies if you've already tried this and I'm just insulting your intelligence!
