Deciding on X370 board

I'm guessing that's a BIOS issue, that should hopefully be resolved in time? Here DuronBurgerMan said they did have 16GB sticks running at near 3000 before a BIOS update.

Thanks both. Specs and user reviews for the Prime X370 indicated it didn't support running RAM above 3000, so good to know it is possible. Looks like that board is probably my best bet then.

Yup, got a new SATA cable and no problems with that drive on the same SATA port now. I think the original problem probably was a separate thing with the graphics card overheating from being too dusty. Thanks inachu and ketchup79 for the help.

Graphics card 'sleeping' and won't wake up

I never had this problem with my old graphics card. A bit more info - today when the problem occurred I tried disconnecting the monitor (VGA connector) and then plugging it back in, and then it started working again.

Hard drive really slow when used in hot-swap bay

Just a quick update to say the antec bay is working fine with my WD drive (and the Samsungs and Seagate). I wouldn't say the drive gets any hotter in there than it did with my previous bay, even though the antec doesn't have a fan.

p5B deluxe reporting v. high cpu temp

Heh, Well Everest is now reporting my CPU temp as 1°C and Speed Fan reports it as -24°C, while the core temps are around 40°C. So I think I definitely shouldn't pay any attention to the CPU temp, and just keep track of the core temps instead.
