Need second opinions on pc not posting

Pretty experienced. As per original post where i said the kraken x62 cpu water cooler was a pain to install so yes it did have cpu cooling installed. Temps were fantastic at 35 degrees celsius. And nothing was fried as was working fine when powered down. thanks though

Tried the battery out for ages. Done a clear cmos jump. Its out of the case atm and had a speaker in and no beeps at all. I'm pretty sure its a dead motherboard. Cheers for the advice guys. Just no idea how it could work and then just stop the next day.

Tried another psu, exactly the same and then took the motherboard out and ran it out of case and the same. Thinking I'm looking at a bad motherboard. Not sure how it could work 1 day and then dead the next.

Random Restarts

I tried some other RAM I had, and the PC done the same thing, crashed in about 5mins in Starcraft 2, multiple times. So I checked BIOS settings and tried a few things like timings, voltage etc, nothing worked. So I put my RAM back in and tried my old GTX 260 graphics card and successfully...

Sounds like a graphics card problem there, if you are losing video but sound keeps playing, try testing another graphics card in there.

I have the same board and CPU, and mine does this also. Do you notice when it is doing this the MEM_LED at the top right corner of the board stays red, or blinks red? Mine will do this sometimes and then reboot itself and say overclocking failed, so chances are it is memory settings, try...

Anandtech Member Case Gallery!

New system I built last week, i5 2500k, Asus P8P67 Pro, 8Gb G.skill 1600Mhz RAM, GTX 570 and the Coolit Vantage ALC heatsink. All in my old Antec P182SE, would like a newer case but am yet to find a reason to convince myself to spend the money, haha.

wierd power issue

I'd try the graphics card in another system and if that works try a different power supply, also unplug all the drives and other PCI cards, and power on the system.

[HELP!] CPU / Motherboard problem

Do you have a PC speaker you can plug in and see if it makes any beeps, chances are if it's the CPU, it will make some crazy beeping sounds, but if it's the mobo it would not. Also try unplugging the HDD, and use 1 stick of RAM, try to just run the bare minimum. Also look for any blown...

SB Overclocking Thread

My 2500k running at 4.7Ghz has strange temps too, at idle all 4 cores sit at ~40-45c (In Australia summer with no Aircon atm), then under load (Prime95) i'll get Cores 0-1 at ~70-72, then core 2 can be as much as 10 degrees C hotter and core 3 at around 77c. Also, does anyone else notice once...

I live in Australia, and after a huge wait we finally got all the Socket 1155 stuff, and I upgraded only to find out about the mobo problems, but it doesn't affect me atm, and then in April (or December probably for us Aussies) when the revised mobo's come out i'll get mine replaced...

Computer Freezes on BIOS Boot Screen - necro, same problem starts post 15

Have you got any parts of your computer overclocked, specifically the CPU or RAM? If so, try removing the overclocks and see if it keeps doing it, if it does it could be mobo or PSU.

Got my old username back, thank you AT :) Finally got the perspex sheet in and added some lighting, and I have ordered the 12v EPS extension and some replacement fans and fan controller.

Ya best bet would be just looking around at sites and reviews, as no one can really tell you what case you will like, it's a personal preference thing. But depending on your budget, Lian Li make some nice professional looking cases, as do Coolermaster. I know this is an Australian site...

Unforeseen consequences with my Q6600 OC.

After looking around some more, what I should have done but I was pretty irritated and wanted a quick fix.. I found at numerous places that the 1403 BIOS for my mobo is "bad". Apparently a LOT of people have had issues with this BIOS, including the ones I listed, and the worst thing is Asus...

Will 7900GS work with directx 10?
