So you're reccomending someone to buy a Haswell-E chip, when broadwell-E is less than 60 days out, and they can spend the SAME MONEY, on a better, newer chip. Horrible recomendation.

If you click on the link and look its 10 cores. The 8core 6900k is going for $875 on ebay..Interesting..That's below the supposed MSRP...While the 10core is above the supposed MSRP... he also has the 6850k for $575...

Nice!! I'm really stoked for you and kinda living vicariously through you, haha. The only reason why I wanted faster ram was for things outside of Adobe stuff/productivity/whenever i game/future proofing etc. I tend to make my systems last minimum 4 years, usually 5-6. Which was also a reason...

ECC ram isn't necessary. Get 1866 if you can, that board can support it. I was looking at that board too but at that price I'd rather invest in a brand new x99 board. Also keep in mind, that board has no on-board audio, so you have to invest in a sound card too. Another reason why I didn't go...

Yea...learning that changed everything for me...An 8core/16thread wasn't necessary (for premiere) and that a fast 6c/12th would be in the sweet spot...Although I don't understand why so many pro editing rigs have dual cpus and 12+ cores...

Most definitely. I wasn't implying they weren't fast, just for my situation, I think I'd rather spend the extra money and have a newer platform. Video editing performance, at least in premiere, is dependent on whole system performance.
