Question Windows 10 1809 no dialogue audio in videos

Change your Audio settings. Something is messed up and it is not defaulting to 2.1. I had the same issue the past couple of weeks, something with the new Realtek Driver and Windows 1809

Building a workstation, trying to choose between 7700k and 1700

EXACTLY what I did. Have my 1700 at 3.6GHZ on the spire cooler, and it needs no extra voltage or anything.

Will we be able to get a 13 inch ultrabook / lightweight 14 inch w/ nvidia 1060?

May have to wait for the alienware 13 refresh (if they are going to continue that line) It should get the upgrade to 1060m when it is available

send an email to Michael@dell.com You will get a response and better service than calling their support line. It will still be from India, but they handle your case from beginning to end, and have always been excellent to deal with.

WDS/WDT deployment weird driver issue..

May be something in your baseimage before the litetouch. go back through add/remove programs, run a disk cleanup and recapture the image

What do you think of my 100% branded Alienware Gaming Setup? (haters here pls!)

I have an Alienware X51 with an Ivy 4770 and an Alienware 13 LOVE them both. No hassle, small and compact, and if there is a hardware issue, I have next day support (3 years on both originally). I did IT support in the past, it is nice that it is not my hassle anymore.

New Satellite: original battery works, but not others..

Reduced screen brightness with clean install (XPS 12)

Is there an ambient lighting setting? I know MAC added those, and I think Windows 8 has as well. There should be a setting to turn it off so the screen is Full on.

Gaming on a 13 in screen; how is it?

Windows XP retirement

They didn't and will not put a kill switch in. That would make them vulnerable to lawsuits. They can leave it behind, and let the community rip it apart, which is long overdue. Imagine the REAL progress that can be attempted when you can leave having to write legacy code for a 12 year old OS...

Replaced Macbook LCD, Now only boots to grey apple screen

Probably wrong display. If something was loose, you would not be getting the apple logo or grey screen.

Alienware

Alienware is a niche product and they do HANDLE gaming better than most laptops (Lenovo Included). They are not the slimmest laptops, but their cooling solutions is designed for that to eliminate throttling. My friend has the Alienware 14 and it is awesome and I am drooling over getting one...

Anyone experiencing IE 10 locking up?

IF you have an Nvidia graphics card, make sure to roll off of 320 and back to 314 My machine only started having issues when on 320 driver. Lock ups, NTVDM not responding, etc....

Lenovo making PCs back in the US again

I applaud this. Better than when IBM owned the line and is shipping everything it can into BRIC countries, except their executive salaries. Thank you Lenovo, once we can get manufacturing BACK into the US, then the TRUE Recovery will begin.

What rig for college??

Returning laptop cuz of Windows 8

I personally am getting used to and beginning to like Windows 8. Then again, I have used keyboard shortcuts forever, so Alt-Tab, Alt-F4 for tasks doesn't matter to me in tiles or desktop. The OS itself runs really smooth and I am sure some of the under the hood updates over Win 7 are worth it...

Still had much better colors on screen than the GeForce. Anyone else still find NVidia cards to wash out colors? AMD still has better screen color warmth. I don't get how that can be, but it is.

Macbook Pro RS or Alienware M14x For Uni

I have owned both (but not the Retina version) M14X Hands down.... Better support, no spyware, is all garbage from Apple is crap. If you need to run Windows, get a Windows laptop, why pay premium to boot into Windows and run 80% FPS for games.....
