    I agree with some of the others, thanks to AMD the ati linux drivers have improved dramatically over the past few months. In January I would've said skip on ati in favor nvidia, but AMD is taking linux seriously now. I have absolutely no problems running my hd3870 in ubuntu.

    I'd say it's currently the best card money can buy for a 19" monitor...seeing as how some reports show the 8800gt outperforming a gtx at 1280x1024. Also ditto what Nickelplate said, wait a week or two for price drop.
