Why do you guys bother with PC gaming?

Monitor recommendations (games!)

I searching for a gaming monitor too but it seems that a lot of panels have ~30ms input lag which is really a downer if you're playing an online FPS and need all the help you can get.

Nvidia kills GTX285, GTX275, GTX260, abandons the mid and high end market

Charlie is probably exaggerating the fact that Nvidia is in trouble because ATI has a head start for DX11 GPUs. I have an uneasy feeling that Nvidia will probably slip to Q1 2010 (with a paper launch end of this year).

Test with stock clock speeds across the board, specially for new launches (overclock cards should have separate reviews that compare them with stock cards).

^ No apparently the person who posted the news originally on expreview is tired because they copy pasted the new model numbers instead of the old ones. Release is still a long way away anyway so it will be some time before reliable specs appear.

What card for 1680x1050 GTX275 or 285

I'm also interested in a GTX275 vs. GTX285 comparison but at 1920x with AA/AF because I was planning to get a 285 soon. Shouldn't the 285 pull noticeably ahead at that res because AT's GTX275 review (both stock cards) seems to show that it doesn't. Why does this card cost $100 more, am I missing...

Asus P5B CPU Upgrade problem

I upgraded my CPU from E6420 to E8400 (E0) on the Asus P5B. According to Asus the P5B supports this CPU from BIOS version 2001 so I updated my BIOS beforehand. I had no manual settings on the BIOS for FSB/Mem speed, etc. (all Auto). After plugging in the CPU on restart the system booted fine...

Such comparisons do exist, maybe not 5fps but close enough. No offense, but your calculation looks targeted towards accountants rather than gamers. If you really want to create a useful guide for gamers you will have to give more weight to factors like resolutions, AA, future games, etc.
