Which (under $400) USED Lenovo model to buy for optimal value ?

Concur on the T400 screen resolution recommendation. The lower resolution screen becomes tiresome quickly. T400 < $400 on eBay is doable if you're johnny-on-the-spot.

I keep reading these type of "the US is a 3rd world country" posts....I have lived in Ecuador for 11 of the last 12 months, previously lived in Los Angeles, now living in South Carolina...Sorry, the US is not 3rd world, not even close....not even close.

Help getting a Linksys WUSB12 wireless adapter to work

I've been trying to get this wireless USB adapter to work on a Dell Latitude C600 running Win XP SP2. My router is a Linksys WRT54G, set to mixed B and G mode. I installed the latest driver from Linksys. However when trying to connect to my network it just says the network is out of range...

Windows Security Alerts

I get the same message on my machine even though it's running the full McAfee suite...Ditto on my wife's computer running AVG AV, Comodo Firewall, and AVG anti-spyware...I've no idea why Windows says that, the McAfee solution is original installation by Dell, so go figure.

What Mayest suggests is a good solution. But be careful that the references are in exactly the same places as on your target file, and the target worksheet is named exactly the same as what's in the reference.

POLL: What E-Mail Program/Client do you use?

I use Thunderbird but recently loaded Outlook 2003 for my wife's work computer to replace Outlook Express. Migrating OE to her new computer was a nightmare, as she needed to save a huge volume of email...No thank you to OE for heavy use.

USB Ports not working

Your problem sounds different, but my wife's laptop once had a problem whenever a USB device was inserted or removed. The computer didn't totally freeze (the touchpad was still active), but would no longer respond to mouse clicks. It had to be cold-booted to cure, then would start all over again...

Ok, got it fixed. I found and went into the Broadcom utility and checked the appropriate radio buttons and let it manage... thanks for your excellent suggestions.

Thanks, thats what I was figuring too. I just can't figure out what the 3rd party utility, probably from Dell, is called at startup. Whatever it might be, it doesn't work because when I try to view the available wireless connections, it defaults to the windows utility which tells me that windows...

Few General Questions: No Taskbar @ Safe Mode. Virus removal.

Have you tried the Vundo removal tools from Symantec: http://www.symantec.com/securi...id=2004-112210-3747-99 or the one from Atribune: http://www.atribune.org/content/view/24/2/ I used them both on a stubborn vundo infection and the atribune fix tool seemed to work a little better...

I did this on my HTPC to make it handle video files a little quicker. Right click My Computer - Manage - Disk Management Select the drive, right click it, and pick Format. there you can pick the Volume Label, File System, and Allocation Unit Size, from default to 64k also: Start->Run...
