Keep in mind this isn't 1080p. Still not a bad price for a 42in 720p, but you can occasionally find 42in 1080p sets around this same price.

My god this is a pathetic statement on American society

Just FYI, the average IQ is 100 by definition. It doesn't fluctuate +/- 5 points from year to year. Having said that, I agree with your point that there are a lot of idiots out there. Most people couldn't point out Iran (much less Israel) on a map, for instance.

My E4300 (2808MHz) is idling at ~48ºC with an AC Freezer 7 Pro

Stock cooling on e4300 @2.4 and I'm idling in the low 40s. @2.7 it wasn't much higher.

Monitor/PC will not come out of sleep mode

Happens to my monitor at work with a very similiar Dell monitor. Not sure why it does it. My old monitor never had this problem. Maybe you can turn off some power saving features for the monitor to get around the problem.

Skirt Steak! Mmmmmmm!!!

That sounds pretty good. More so because I haven't had dinner just yet. How you cut it definitely is huge. I usually just marinade with Montreal Steak seasoning. You mix it with some red wine vinegar, oil, and water. Tastes great too.

How do I fix this problem?

I got a weird red tint to everything with the adapter. The problem was that it was loose. I tightened it up and problem solved. Try moving it around while looking at the screen.

Here's the biggest problem with the 8800GTS pricing

The 640mb was overpriced to start with, while the 320mb was more reasonable. Besides, without intense competition, demand will keep prices up.

Question for people with huge DVD collections

I own probably 300 DVDs. Been collecting since December 1999 and don't regret it at all. Even on my 47in HDTV progressive scanned DVDs look great. Whenever I end up getting an upconverting player w/HDMI it should look even better. HD DVDs are great, but not worth the price right now, nor is it...

Tired of CS:S

I just can't stand all the cheaters. Headshot after headshot gets old quickly. I remember when the game first came out, I was getting ridiculous kill: death ratios. Now I can't even come close to 1:1. What is with CS and cheating anyway? Most multiplayer games seem to avoid the problem.

Video (driver) slowdown after shutdown

bump. Drivers seem to "revert" to lower performance after a shutdown. Reinstalling the 93.71s and restarting solves the problem again until a shutdown.

Gainesville, FL here. I've had this scam tried on me twice over the past 6 years or so. Both times in the Target parking lot. Told them I wasn't interested and walked off. Shady is an understatement.
